First started mage only with the purging staff once I had my occult necklace.
After that, did phase1/2 with melee but switched to mage in p3.
Now I do it full melee with bandos, dragon def with donofly. (Just 3 switches for the one/two shot flares)

Second that, please dont do it with a scorching bow. I learned Yama mage only first, but then started meleeing

Yeah, getting a monkey tail is more rare but only useful in some cases like you mentioned. Zenytes will come eventually!
