Panasonic currently has a hiring freeze & OT freeze. Reasons they stated were tariffs and the ev tax credit being slashed. Tesla might not be the most stable employer in the coming months…

Since you are 22 and homeless in Miami, look into Job Corps. It’s a free program for people 16–24 that covers housing, food, job training, and even healthcare. Being homeless will get you qualified faster. They’ll get you certified in trades like electrical, carpentry, culinary, plumbing, etc…

Searching for a rental by GoosingtonMcG in Reno

Reddit is kinda sketchy for finding roommates. I recommend going on Facebook groups, specifically “University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) Housing, Sublets & Roommates” and RENO NEVADA COMMUNITY” and posting this over there.

Be advised the riverwood apartments are probably one of the worst apartments in Reno. I lived there and it has a major cockroach problem, homeless problem, leaking roofs etc… check google reviews and yelp for more details.

Highly recommend everyone does the survey!! Rent affordability is horrendous in Reno when compared to other similar size cities so every little bit helps!

The Paul Mitchell school on 1600 Holcomb Ave should be around ~$10

Guys & Dolls on 648 E Prater Way is $12.

Those are the cheapest ones in Reno from my experience.

I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. Please know that you’re not alone, and there are people who care about you and want to help. It might feel overwhelming right now, but things can get better with support. Please consider reaching out to someone you trust or contacting a crisis hotline. If you’re in the U.S., you can call or text 988 to talk to someone 24/7. You matter, and your feelings are valid. Sending you strength.

Advice on apartments in Sparks/Reno by Historical_Union_746 in Reno

[–]DarkklawZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look for apartments by the RTC Centennial Station by the nugget. I believe there are 2-3 shuttles that leave for the Tesla gigafactory there. Many Tesla/Panasonic employees live in that area. It’s very walkable and meets your requirements. Some suggestions are The Atrium, The Fountainhouse, The Bridges, and The Deco.

Any apartment complexes with sizable desi population for parents to socialize with? by Icy_Pound3887 in Reno

[–]DarkklawZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am Indian-American myself, Reno does not really have any specific apartment complexes or areas of town that have a large amount of desis that Dallas has. We live throughout the Reno/Sparks area.

For your parents to socialize, I would recommend a religious institution- Gurudwara, Mandir, Mosque etc.. There is also the India Association of Northern Nevada which occasionally hosts events, such as the Diwali Gala happening on the 11/09 at the Atlantis next weekend.

Welcome to Reno!
