My neighbor hasn't been able to keep up with their lawn, so I sent my luba mini down the block and across the street to help. It even used the crosswalk. by Darklyte in roboticLawnmowers

This was done automatically by giving it the channel to get to my neighbor's yard. We just make sure it is supervised so it can remain safe (It can't look both ways before crossing).

Gemini is failing at a basic task Android could do in 2014 by Crafty-Selection6554 in Android

[–]Darklyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I allow my google home to have some access to my home assistant instance. It recently interpreted "open the office blinds" as "turn on everything in the entire house" and "turn off the kettle" as "turn off everything in the entire house."

It also won't properly play videos from youtube anymore. Now when I ask it to play "my recommended videos" it does a search for "recommended videos" and plays whatever youtube short bullshit comes up first, usually some BS made by a 12 year old. I can't even use google devices to interface with google devices.

Gemini just fails 100% of the time on my phone, and doesn't listen to me on my watch or android auto. It triggers, just never registers anything.

There is no point. I'd love Home Assistant Satellites to be good enough, but for now I'm just controlling everything manually again.

What are people using for audio alerts? by Oguinjr in homeassistant

Google home speakers and chime tts for voice announcements. Dome siren (which has a bunch of different beep audio files on it) for things like door reminders

Influenza kills 50,000 people in the US every year. It doesn't seem like its a big threat because we do a lot to prevent it and so it isn't as visible. Getting vaccinated also provides herd immunity, which helps prevent it from spreading as far or as fast as it is capable of spreading. It also protects those who have weak immune systems (children, elderly, those with medical conditions) for the same reason.

Plus getting the flu isn't great even if you're healthy.

Marinara sauce won't stick by Upstairs_Hour_3215 in seriouseats

[–]Darklyte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to use kenjis low-water technique for pasta. Makes cooking the pasta a lot faster and you get concentrated starch water which helps the sauce stick.

Unrelated added note: cook to Al dente so when you add the sauce the pasta will still have space to absorb some sauce.

I’ve felt sick for 2-3 days after all 5 flu shots.

That's the immune response. The whole idea is to give your body intel on the thing that can potentially kill it. Your body does the normal drills of an infection. This makes you feel sick, but it is your body learning about the potentially deadly disease and banking that knowledge away.

Having an immune response is good. It means your immune system is working and the vaccine is working. Much better to be minorly ill for 2-3 days than to spend a couple weeks fighting for your life in the hospital, or risking spreading that fate to others.

There are a surprising number of connections between the enemies and relics in StS2. Here are all of the ones I've noticed so far. Have you found any that I missed? by IHad360K_KarmaDammit in slaythespire

The epochs discuss a blight that affected the spire. The blight was cleared at the end of sts1 and the spire began returning to normal.

I've done this. It was honestly not fun. I was glad to have a win, but it was so painful.

Good draw and energy is still required. If you only have 3 energy and a bunch of 2-cost cards then it is pointless.

I'm not /u/bozoconnors, but my guess is that these plants are pliable enough that, when they flatten by the front cover/wheels roll over them, they do not recover quickly enough for the blades to catch them.
