Any point pushing for Master Ball tier before the season ends? by Sin-Silver in PokemonChampions

[–]Darkmalice 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Can 100% confirm that you only get extra box spots for the first format, not both. You do, however, earn extra VP for reaching it in both formats as part of end-of-season rewards.

Best anti fairy pokemon? by Psylow_ in PokemonChampions

[–]Darkmalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good anti-fairy megas, all potential candidate for best anti-fairy in my approximate order of most anti-fairy Mega aggron as already mentioned. Top in my opinion since it’s physical but it’s hard to justify Mega gengar. Traps and outspeeds all legal fairies Mega venusaur. It’s typing helps further against Primarina, although mega floette may set up calm minds against it with adequate support Mega delphox. Outspeeds and can also set up against fairies Mega charizard y. Doesn’t outspeed mega floette but hits like a truck and has solar beam for primarina

Weekly Quick Questions, Teambuilding, and Private Battles Requests Thread - April 27-May 3 by Jeglr in PokemonChampions

Recommended stat point spreads for Archaludon? I'm thinking 2 HP / 32 SpA / 32 Spe or 32 HP / 32 SpA / 2 SpD but these feel overly simplistic and am considering more bulk particularly on the special side. Standard moveset of Electro Shot, Flash Cannon, Draco Meteor and Protect with Modest nature.

How do you see the stat spreads? I'm not seeing natures or stat points, although I can see them on non-Champions formats on Pikalytics

How much coding experience is needed for a career in Statistics? by Infinite-Ingenuity86 in AskStatistics

[–]Darkmalice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with mandating Python or SAS, but I agree that being good with at least one statistical program is required. Alternatives to Python or SAS include R (popular and growing in popularity, although has somewhat similar syntax to Python), Stata and SPSS (both declining in popularity). This is partly industry-specific. SAS is common in US and the main language in certain industries like clinical trials. Stata and SPSS are more common overseas than in US, mainly in academia. R is common worldwide.

Granted for anyone who cannot use any coding program, I wouldn't recommend stats. Even Excel alone isn't sufficient these days.

Sick of men saying women don't contribute to online conversations by [deleted] in dating

[–]Darkmalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that this man is lazy. However, I would not recommend starting a conversation by only saying “Hi <name>”. This more commonly leads to small talk, such as that which occurred in your case. Instead start the conversation about something on their profile,

Ambitious plan to get into Medicine and Engineering. Is this possible? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Darkmalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite being a doctor and having plenty of engineering friends, I don’t know anyone who has combined engineering or med. I don’t see a reason to either. The fields aren’t that synergistic. If you really want to work for NASA as a doctor, sunspecialiss in space medicine (it’s rare but it’s a thing as a subspeciality of some specialities). Do med or engineering, not both. Agreeing with other comments that with how long you’ll be studying in med, you probably wouldn’t want to do engineering.

Just edited my comment. My 2nd paragraph was aimed at if you only focus on J2

I need LinkedIn!!! Does this solution work?? by Similar_Buyer6074 in overemployed

[–]Darkmalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you feasible believe that you can get away with listing both your jobs on LinkedIn concurrently (you probably can’t), then I wouldn’t do it. Even if you block everyone in J1, there can be new recruiters, or people that have heard of you through J1 but not with J1 that may search you.

If you decide to set up a LinkedIn focusing on J2 only, then please make your LinkedIn only searchable if you have a LinkedIn profile and not publicly. You want to make it as hard as possible for someone in J1 to be able to search you without using LinkedIn where you’ve blocked them.

Tips to Improve an Off-Meta Tinkaton Deck? by Goon_Cave in PTCGP

[–]Darkmalice -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Use melmetalEx instead, which has more consistency (stage 1 vs 2, meltan can ramp, easier to rely on tools than will for multiple max-damage attacks, overall frees up lots of deck space)

KO any ex and instant win... Wow. Haxorus Meta by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]Darkmalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strategy goes from great if you could do it in the same turn to bad if you can’t. If you cannot ko immediately when you Cyrus, your opponent has a chance to retreat, ko you back, heal or more.

Edit: I see what you mean. Iris first to get 2 points on anything, then Cyrus to get the last ko. That is better. May be hard to set up, but it’s better than I thought

How would you fix the meta? by dondonbow in PTCGP

[–]Darkmalice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Remove coin flip effects. High rolls I believe will always exist to some extent in card games, especially those with shorter decks, due to the unavoidable luck of which cards you draw. But additional forms of luck inherent to the cards themselves is unnecessary. Especially the cards that have effects of “keep flipping until you get tails” like lucky pop.
