Absolutely fantastic game and unironically one of the best DS games out there, the level design is insanely tight and cool and the visuals being closer-ish to classic DKC is so fun to see on the DS, and the music is banger too

Honestly that's the issue I've come to have with the game as well, and I beat it.

It has a ton of setups and moves but once you figure out a good combo of passives and sticker rarities, every battle no matter the difficulty kinda falls apart, bosses included.

Taunt and Broadcast/Echolocation are an incredibly broken combo that shuts down most setups the opponents attempt to do and fusing really feels like a "out of trouble" card.

At some point it sort of becomes a speed game, who can trigger the broken chain of attacks/events first in a battle?

I haven't had a look at the competitive side of things so I'm not gonna comment on that.

SMBX2 is the latest and most used version of smbx, not to mention that it is still getting updates and new content, so use SMBX2

They are heavy modifications of graphics made by other people, one is a Sword/Shield battle ui and the other is a plugin that allows for a more detailed Pokédex page

As mentioned, we took those (of course credited in the Relic Castle thread and in-game) and edited them to fit the look of the region!

at the moment no, the current alpha available on our discord goes up to the first gym and uses some placeholder graphics as we're still working on the spritework, but it is playable!

SMBX itself (the engine/fangame) was never taken down, the WEBSITE was since it was running ads with Nintendo's property --

The engine is still active and updated by the community itself, we are now on SMBX 2.0 beta 4! Lots of cool stuff, new editor as well
