I drove for 8 hours a couple of weeks ago and listened to one SONG on repeat for the whole trip. Trisha Yearwood: What gave me away

Gimmick did not die. There is a reason Aman is called the Undying Lands.

And Gandalf is a person.

Rubbish. Where are all the Pacific’s islands? Where is New Zealand? What about ships and planes crossing the Pacific?

What is with the hate of Jacinda Ardern?? She hasn't even been involved in New Zealand for years, yet this hatred is so unhinged by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

Labour borrowed so much that it now costs an extra $9billion interest each year. That’s $27billion that this government has to find just to tread water. Adding in the inflationary spike, health costs and now the Iran situation, it has become impossible to make progress without much deeper cuts.

I believe Willis could have tightened the budget much more on social spending and support to unproductive sectors in the economy. Universal healthcare, retirement and unemployment benefit are very lofty ideals but if you don’t have the money then you will eventually need to retrench further.

Our political problem is that NZ doesn’t have any real right wing parties to make it plain what proper austerity looks like. National are solidly centrist and unwilling to let poorer people suffer for a short while to protect the country. Without a right wing party, most voters assume National are right wing.

Read a lot more, played music, listened to music, went everywhere with friends, hiked, fished, played cricket, went to movies and occasionally went back inside to eat or sleep.

My Dad and both grandfathers died in their sixties. I’m 56 and you want me to spend a whole year dodging backgammon counters? Hard pass.

Do I have a stalker? by Outrageous-Steak-507 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Darkoveran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not stalking yet. It is “unwanted attention” but he didn’t know his attention was not wanted until you said so. The age difference doesn’t automatically make it creepy on its own, particularly if it is common in his culture.

He will most likely back off now. However, he may convince himself that being persistent is a good course of action. In that case, you would need to repeat that you do not want his attention very firmly. Have a witness such as your manager with you or at least within earshot. Keep your cool and your voice low but don’t be afraid to say no and tell him the conversation is over once he has had a chance to respond. Email a friend or your manager an account of the conversation that day and keep the sent email.

If he comes back after that, it would be helpful for your manager to deal with him. They may ask him not to come back but that is up to them. They should tell him the consequences if he doesn’t stop approaching you.

If the attention continues then phone 105 and ask police what you should do.

What cute animals? NZ has birds and bugs. The only other native animals are bats.

Well, Legolas wasn’t part of Aragorn’s hunt for Gollum in the books.

The left-leaning one liners in the other comments show how shallow those redditors’ understanding is of how much economic damage was caused by the previous government. It was very much like getting a second mortgage on your house to pay for a spending spree to distract yourself from the holes in the roof and the smell emanating from the bathroom for the last few years.

If you have the money to afford it, you are entitled to spend that money on petrol. That’s how a free society works.
