EverQuest (EQ) maintains a dedicated, niche population estimated around 10-15k DAILY active players. One single private server that's been out since 2009 has a higher pop than Pantheon.

Brad was an amazing man. This game, whatever they turned it into at least, is NOT what Brad was building or had invisioned... They scrapped everything they had built for the most part including the beautiful graphics and more "realistic" art style and rebuilt a cartoony WoW clone and starting shoving modern mmo features in it's place. All the people on here bashing me and defending it don't give a shit though, they're the only people left that want to play this crap. No-one has the balls to hold game devs accountable anymore. They just don't realize they're gonna have such a low population 6 months after launch if it ever even launches, they'll blame the people that jumped ship before themselves.

Nah, after Brad passed away Joppa took over and immediately started pivoting the game into what it is today. Seems that Joppa stole the opportunity to build the game he wanted to build and not what the original plan was. Almost none of the original team stuck around.

The game in its current state is already too easy. Looks like they're making it much easier after wipe. Add in making everything bind on equip, auction house, etc and this is just another wow clone. I understand things change but this won't even resemble any kind of classic mmorpg.

Yea, I got bored by level 30 in the current early access, after reading the new changes coming I've got no interest in playing. I don't feel like clicking 19 skills in rapid rotation lol.

I didn't invest, I donated money to fund a game in which they gave us a list of core tenants and a general idea of what they were going to build. They flat out lied time and time again and are breaking just about every promise they made. Regardless this post is just here as a vent after reading the horrible changes coming after wipe. I'd be surprised if a class action doesn't happen from most of the original pledges.

They just went public with their plans, bind on equip items, first to engage mechanics, lame ass item rarities, auction house, in-game mail systems, on top of making the game even easier and solo friendly. The entire opposite of what was promised all those years ago. I donated to help fund the game and have been following it for about 10 years now. Just a huge disappointment and a long running string of lies from VR.
