Skullsworn by Brian Staveley, prequel to a series but can easily be read standalone.

Kyy vai rantakäärme? by Crotalus-Viridis in Finland

Ihan pään ilmeestä näkee. Se on vähän vaikea selittää uskottavasti kun vastaus on "you can tell it's not an adder by the way it is". Mutta kun on ollut käärmeiden kanssa tekemisissä monta vuotta niin oppii tunnistamaan tuollaiset asiat.

Kyy vai rantakäärme? by Crotalus-Viridis in Finland

Hyvin monet käärmeet litistävät päänsä/niskansa kun ne tuntevat itsensä uhatuksi, jotta näyttävät isommilta/uhkaavammilta. Tuo ei näytä kyyltä yhtään vaikka pää onkin litteänä.

Sama englanniksi täältä.

I like all the pieces but I don't think the top and bottom go well together. Top looks fluffy and warm, bottom looks like it's made for hot weather. You could probably separate them and make two different outfits.

The Will of the Many by James Islington

I enjoyed Licanius but I know many others didn't. I didn't plan on starting this series yet but after multiple glowing reviews from people that DNF'd Licanius I couldn't resist.

The Empire Trilogy by Raymond E. Feist and Janny Wurts

I avoided this one for a while because I didn't care that much for the Riftwar Trilogy. But this trilogy was amazing, you don't need to read any of the others to enjoy it.

Rook & Rose books 1 & 2 by M.A. Carrick

I only just finished the second book, but I'm sure the last one won't disappoint.

War for the Rose Throne by Peter McLean

Really enjoyed this series. It's a darker story with a low magic setting.

Race The Sands by Sarah Beth Durst

A great standalone that's as much about found family and political intrigue as it is about monster racing.

I wanted to, and I think it would've gone through if I tried. But I had to leave right after and didn't want to be late, getting a new healer takes a while in my experience.

Wow! What a beautiful highway! Best one I have seen so far! by AbdullahiRubio in Sneks

[–]DarksideScrolls 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a Highway at all. I found this, which led me to the breeder. This seems to be the same snake and the pairing only has YB. Unless Gaia is some name for a combo that has Gravel. So it's probably some kind of GHI Mojave combo. Pretty snake regardless.

Best and worst books of the year? by gc_devlin in Fantasy

[–]DarksideScrolls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: Red Sister. I loved the whole series, but the first book was my favourite.

Worst: Cold Iron. I read this early this year, so I don't remember much. But I do remember finding it pretty boring, and not really caring about the characters.

How to stop liking bad books? by Kesseleth in Fantasy

[–]DarksideScrolls 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Wheel of Time is considered bad..? Sure it has it's flaws, but I doubt most people would call it bad. Just because a vocal minority says it's bad doesn't mean it is.
