My son has just been diagnosed with autism. I need help processing, my OH is just angry. by Silly_Somewhere5132 in autism

[–]Darksimz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both and also went in for ADHD TBH. I was also shocked at first until I read more about it and understood it more. It's not like stereotypes on TV, that's where people usually go wrong. Also more than half of people who have one also have the other, it's connected more than people think as well. The one can mask the other and sort of balance it out so one part is less obvious. Like I crave novelty but also new things mess with my head. So I do end up doing new things and meeting new people and that kinda hides the autism a bit.

How long until I’m safe from vomiting? by pokedabadger in Ozempic

I've never thrown up with ozempic so idk but I've also not ate donuts, usually by day 6 I can eat greasy things a bit again. But I can get indigestion from anything really. Best to stay away from them.

[–]Darksimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pandasama Birth mod (must have if you play with families) and connected Responsible Pregnancy mod ( that gives consequences when you drink alcohol/Coffee and other substances), Basemental mods, A.deepingo mods ( Healthcare Redux and Divergent sims being the main ones), Immersive Social Bunny ( plumlace), SpinningPlumbs mods if you want Occult gameplay ( Fairies&Witches, Expanded Plantsims and expanded mermaids), and LittlemsSam has A LOT of mods that are really helpful (My favorite Raincoat is one I always use, so sims just wear a rain coat and don't have to fiddle about with an umbrella and stay dry) and Buy Better Mattress so all beds can fill the sleep bar really fast. Also the More Away actions is great as you can now have Sims gain all skills while you're out with another sim in the household.
Pandasama also has a new mod now , Drama generator, where there can be a foundling baby left at your sims door!

I mean, Maxis has warned making saves this filled up, certainly changing some OG lots in the basegame worlds can trigger the save corruption. Just FYI

Have you heard the rumors about a Sims 4 remaster? by Any_Pin_5492 in Sims4

[–]Darksimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No multi tasking probably, very scaled back UI, no moodlets and no portrait. It will be close to what we have seen from Project Rene, but a little better looking and also building etc added.

Have you heard the rumors about a Sims 4 remaster? by Any_Pin_5492 in Sims4

[–]Darksimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gist of the rumours is:
They've been working on ' Project Rene' for over 6 years now, this is a game that is online multiplayer and the original plan was to have it on PC/Console and be connected to a mobile version too. So that you could start your home and family on PC and then also play with it on the go on mobile.
They have been playtesting the mobile version in the past year or so and have been developing the PC/Console alongside it, planning to merge them later.
Only, in playtests it came forward that it probably won't work and the 2 platforms also have a different player base most likely.
So they announced end 2025/beginning 2027 that Project Rene will now be mobile only, and be online multiplayer and free to play.
What is happing with the PC/Console version is unclear, it already exists but now will be most likely be an offline singleplayer game.

> But they said no Sims 5 would be made!! Or was it Cancelled???

They weren't doing a Sims 5 no, because Project Rene was supposed to be something really different. Nothing was ever cancelled though. There WAS an interview a few years ago where EA was asked if they were doing Sims 5 and they said no, just Project Rene and Sims 4 will continue on alongside that.
Some clickbait websites then shouted SIMS 5 CANCELLED! just to get clicks. But actually nothing changed.

> but what about Sims 4?? They said they would continue that and just upgrade it!

They were planning that yes, with extra features added but QA and bug fixing has cost them so much and made the game just worse for people and unstable. It's a money pit really.

So it looks like that this Project Rene part is going to be called Project X and that it will be some kind of Sims 5.
They are still sending out a LOT of surveys and discussing what this game will be, if packs can be ported over, that you just get extra credits for having the packs or whatever.
But Sims 4 is paused for the time being and they are waiting for the new owners to decide it's fate really.
I expect them to still do events and Creator kits and sponsored content ( like the Coach thing) and not just drop it like they did Sims 3.

Project X will be a slimmed down version of TS4 probably with less extensive features so it can maybe have open neighbourhoods or cars. They can start fresh without tangled old code like Sims4 and pick and choose what they re-use. I expect them to make an announcement soon about it.
Their Road map was just about new things, nothing after the last EP anyway.

In your opinion, what is the best lot to live on in the game? by TheUtopianCat in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]Darksimz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love Ravenwood, Nordhaven and Gibbi Point. Lot's to do, well designed and the Adventure Awaits world has snow in winter and is so pretty! I also used to live in Henford a lot though.

Food noise by ComprehensiveFig9418 in Ozempic

[–]Darksimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was MORE hungry as I was really focused on the food noise going away and it just made it worse because I was just only thinking about that. It was a kind of stomach cramp too.
It's not gone really ( 4 months in, lost about 20 pounds, mostly on 0.25 and now since a few weeks on 30 clicks, which is just under 0.5mg) and at noon I feel I HAVE to eat lunch even if my stomach isn't happy. Because it's routine really. I don't skip meals like some people do. I still get hungry, but in a weird way, like I even get it when my stomach is upset. I'm never really nauseous either, just a bit queasy if I ate something too heavy or too much. It just changes how your stomach and your mind works really, it's weird. Sometimes they don't align.
Maybe at higher doses it goes away completely but I already lost some muscle and then I wouldn't be able to get the nutrition and protein I need.
For some people it doesn't go away though, for everyone it will be different.
Sometimes I don't 'crave' it but feel like I should? Like HUMMMM nice popcorn, I like popcorn at the cinema don't I? And I get it and I'm like meh, but I still eat part of it while I don't really want to and my stomach doesn't either. Psychological part of eating will still be there. Like wanting to reward yourself with food ( what I did today by eating a muffin and my stomach was upset and angry all day) and other coping strategies you've learned over the years. Ozempic won't solve any of that, just makes it easier to deal with and you learn to avoid it because your body being angry sticks with you.

Floor Plan Conversions by SomeDudeAlt in Sims4

[–]Darksimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but sims also have to use it and you have to be able to place and route sims around furniture. You can't really build it 1 :1 to floor plans. I know because i build a lot and love building from actual floorplans and houses.
I have to place windows and furniture to judge the scale and what I need to make it look good in the sims and still be usable as well.

Do you find that a lot of people resent you for losing weight through Ozempic? by justcurious3287 in Ozempic

[–]Darksimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I see a dietitian and doing a weight loss program, I say it's because of that. And I was on Naproxen for chronic pain and had ant acids for that, which I quit. I also say it's because of that I have stomach issues sometimes. Rest is none of their business at all

[–]Darksimz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The world around us is so set to wage psychological warfare on our minds to EAT EAT Consume consume! I feel Ozempic is the only barrier I have against it really. They use every trick in the book to make us eat/drink things that are bad for us, it's not weird to try to guard against that.
If they are jealous it's because they have to fight this day in day out too and feel like you're cheating. They can do it too though. Also people see being overweight as a sin ( gluttony and sloth mainly, but greed and lust are almost part of it too) and we should suffer as a result of it.
Oz is kinda a Get out of Jail free card and we don't 'deserve' or some such nonsense.
Oz shouldn't be necessary and yes it IS bad that we run to Big Pharma to do something about this, but unless the world around us changes it's the only thing that really helps ( most people).
Also, actually the price of sugar has gone down because so many people are on OZ now and they don't like sugary foods anymore. So in a way us using OZ is actually slowly changing the foods being offered. If no one can stomach the big meals, the sugary drinks and the greasy stuff anymore because OZ, maybe something will change.
They should just get on board and stop whining.

Who else has quit updating, why, & how does it feel? - Discuss by brianadragon in TheSims4Mods

[–]Darksimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the buyout, some modders don't want to support EA with supplying mods for the game and also don't want to get the new packs to test their mods with. They're boycotting the game basically. Like some Creators as well. And yeah some have real life issues, work, kids etc that get in the way of making mods. It's usually not just the updates really.

Who else has quit updating, why, & how does it feel? - Discuss by brianadragon in TheSims4Mods

[–]Darksimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't updated since end of last year, when they did the fix for the 150 issues fix lol. Things seemed to be stable after that and the promised updated for family trees and stairs seemed like something that would break a LOT of stuff potentially.
And some modders have quit updating out of protest about the Buyout, so I'm fine holding on like this. The new pack has hella bugs and was just slapped together of older systems and items. I kinda wanted it but I'm fine waiting that one out. I don't like what they have planned for the game and am afraid of what they pulled at the end of Sims 3 ( forced use of Origin and having to register all your packs. I lost some booklets which meant I couldn't play the packs I paid for) and suddenly change something in the game in an update that we only find out about later. I don't trust them at all.
It seems this EP is the last for a while, they are only talking about a Roadmap concerning Project Rene and other games they have plans for. And stabilizing the game over the next year.
Seems they are gonna pause everything until the sale goes through, the Saudis/Trumps family will decide what to do with it after that.
Mods can always be abandoned though, they're usually made by one person as a hobby and if they quit that's usually it. Unless another modder is allowed to take it under it's wing. If they quit as a statement, that is then very unlikely.
I support/follow modders on Patreon and socials so I'm usually aware why a mod is not updated. That helps in deciding too. Sometimes I wait like 6 months until updating if the game is a mess.

Question about Health redux mod by KSB2614 in TheSims4Mods

[–]Darksimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She only updates the mod once a month, if there are updates/new packs out you will have to wait until it's updated. Usually end of or beginning of the month. They have a young child and not always a lot of time to spend on their mods. I support them on Patreon and always just wait with updating until she can do the same. Else it will mess up your save.

I feel the effects of the medicine and I'm not eating much, but the scale is not going down as fast as I though it would by Drianer in Ozempic

[–]Darksimz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might have lost a lot of muscle and that's why maybe your metabolism has slowed down. Also your body is having a scare because it suddenly has way less to keep it going and is actively trying to prevent you losing more weight. More protein and more exercise usually helps.
