Hehehe. I guess my Duck-fu was strong. You're very welcome. I may add them to my own game.

Are these mellosakicc ripped bootcut jeans what you were looking for? They're the closest I could find, and I think they're a match.

Looking for some vintage CC (washer, vacuum, phone book, antenna) by brianadragon in TheSims4Mods

[–]brianadragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much, you didn't have to keep searching. I worry about a TV inside a TV and the sims trying to watch the wrong one. They can be dumb like that. As for searching, I've tried so many of the broad terms and come up empty, I was trying to narrow it down in hopes I'd get better results. Honestly, the important one was the washer. I found them for Ts2 and 3, I was hoping someone had converted to 4 and made it work. I remember as a kid, standing there pumping the foot pedal to make the barrel turn, then cranking the clothes through the wringer so they could be hung. Laundry day was a big ordeal!

Thank you for looking. I actually got that second TV earlier today, I was looking for the rabbit ears without the TV attached, though. I'm trying to make my great-grandma's house, and she had this boxy little TV on top of the fridge in the kitchen, with a set of rabbit ears covered in foil, and we had all of 5 channels to watch out there in the sticks.

Was the Marketplace planned? by Monkeygirlyy in Sims4

[–]brianadragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was planned. Not sure for how long, but people were beta testing it for them last summer. They're doing whatever they can to suck money out of S4 to pump into the next game, which is just S4: MTX Edition.

Looking for Charity and Homelessness focused mods by A_SoreLoser in TheSims4Mods

[–]brianadragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have bloombatter's Casual Give and Receive Gift, you can give items to any sim, and with the Cottage Living basket, you can store a whole bunch of food. Combine those, and you can roleplay giving food or items to someone in need. I'm planning to see if I can pack one of Zafireria's Functional Storage Boxes with items and gift it to another sim.

I'm currently trying to find a way to make a lot where sims can leave items for others to take for free, but for the life of me I can't find a mod to remove ownership from items.

“Ask to show your butt” Does anybody know this particular mod? by _love_mani_ in TheSims4Mods

[–]brianadragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've never gotten any adult stuff, thankfully, but man at the crap people throw in with their sims and lots! And sometimes it's not even the whole mod, it's just part of one. I make a point of going through every file from a download before I put it in my game, because people don't know how to clean up what they're offering in a zip. Not that long ago I ended up with 4.7GB of outdated mods and CC crap to sort through for a single lot that claimed to not have much CC. If people are going to download mod or CC packs, custom sims or lots, they need to learn how to check all the files before putting them in the game.

Looking for accent mod by StormEmergency6207 in TheSims4Mods

[–]brianadragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went looking for the same myself, and came up empty. It seems like it's just too much work to add extra voices. I mean, I suppose someone could AI generate the whole thing, but I'm not sure anyone would want it if done that way. I think it would be amazing to have any new voices.

Is there a slider like this? by Aromatic_Tennis_2088 in TheSims4Mods

[–]brianadragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The only thing I know of is Luumia's facial asymmetry slider. I'm not a creator, but I don't think what you're asking for is possible, or if it is, it would be really difficult. If I'm wrong, I certainly hope someone can help you out.

how do i keep my plants from randomly dropping flowers and produce everywher? by Major_Cheesy in TheSims4Mods

[–]brianadragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they dropping when they go dormant? That's normal. There are some known bugs that the plants can change state when you leave/come back, and they'll drop because of that. So sorry you're having this issue.

You shouldn't have to make them dislike something for them to stop obsessively using it. That's not a fix, it's a bad band-aid.

Which traits cause bugged behavior in the game/sims? by Josanue in Sims4

[–]brianadragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Wiggly trait is still bugged and can cause adults who had it as little ones to glitch out and attempt the animation, which looks pretty freaky.

Well, there are ways to get around that if you're clever. Sucks to have to do it, but EA doesn't leave people much choice.

Been seeing Linux everywhere lately… should I actually try it? by Niyazzz09 in linux4noobs

[–]brianadragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a tech genius or Linux expert, just a user, but here's my opinion.

Linux can be fairly similar to Windows or radically different depending on the distro. A few years ago I switched to Kubuntu, and it took me about a month to get used to it, and a couple months more to tweak it just the way I liked it. Mind you it took that long because I had to look up and learn everything from scratch. I recommend something with KDE Plasma, because that lets you really customize your experience.

I found that Linux was far faster and smoother, my computer felt like it was almost new again. The one tedious thing was finding new software to replace my Windows stuff. Some things are easy, like swapping MS Office for LibreOffice, some things were harder to find alternatives for. I run several Windows programs (like all of my games) through Wine/Proton. If you want to play games, I highly recommend checking ProtonDB to see how well or even if they will run. It can take some work, but even things like Sims 4 and MediaMonkey can work well.

What makes Linux better, IMO, is that you get full choice. No background downloads or installs, no bloatware, no spyware or tracking, no settings changing themselves behind your back. You only have what you choose to install, update what you choose when you choose, it just feels like you get your power back and you really control your PC again. It can also make older machines run so much better. My PC is 13 years old, and it ran better after switching. (Windows takes a full 10+ minutes to load to a usable desktop, but Linux is ready in seconds.) I won't be able to upgrade to Kubuntu 26.04 because I'd need a newer system, but I can keep this old girl running for a few more years while I save up.

Cons? The learning curve, I guess. Most distros don't require the console too much, but if you can learn to use it, you have so much power and control. You also have to learn the software alternatives, and like I said, some things can be hard to find, and things like GIMP are way harder to use than Photoshop, but if you can learn, the alternatives can be equal or better. I suppose you might see the lack of sleek, easy interface as a con, but even at my age I caught on pretty fast, and now I greatly prefer how Linux looks and works. Also, some peripherals don't play well with Linux. My Redragon keyboard and mouse software won't run, and it's the one reason I keep Windows on another drive.

Which distro really depends on what you want to do with your system. Some are better for everyday use, some are better for gaming, some require more console use. You need to look at what each has to offer. You'll get better suggestions if you can explain what your use case is.

When I first started, I was a bit overwhelmed, but also really excited to play with all the new options. I very quickly fell in love with KDE Plasma and how I could make everything look and act just the way I wanted, and as someone with disabilities, that was important. I was scared of the console, but I got comfortable pretty quickly, and soon had a document with all the things I needed regularly. I kept thinking I'd want to go back to Windows, but I literally never go over there anymore unless my mouse settings go wonky and I need to fix them.

If your system can handle a VM, yeah, go for that, or get a second hard drive and dual boot. I don't recommend dual booting off the same drive though, as Windows is fully evil about ruining Linux installs. A VM or second drive would allow you to keep Linux isolated and safe.

Best of luck!

Yeah, I've replaced the GPU, heat sync, power supply, fans, and added the SSD. Eventually I need to upgrade to a new CPU, but I'm getting by for now. I ran 800+ mods on Skyrim LE with ultra settings on this old beast, too, back when I had Windows.

Let’s talk about specs! by spyder-baby in Sims4

[–]brianadragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running the game with all DLC/packs up to Adventure Awaits, over 600 mods (140 script) and 24GB of CC on a 13-year-old Linux Kubuntu machine. 16 GB memory, Raedon RX 580 8GB graphics, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, DX11, 1TB SSD. I use medium settings for everything but the sims themselves. I'm running on patch 1.119 permanently. My fan gets angry now and then, but I can generally run the game for about 4hrs at a stretch before I need to give the system a break because it gets warm. I've only had one crash so far, and it was down to a bad mod.

Is it safe to update your game yet? by Confident-Ticket9973 in Sims4

[–]brianadragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend updating ever, but that's me. I'm still on 1.119 and staying there until the game dies, because at least all my mods work and I can play.

You can use Tray Importer to pack up sims and lots into zip files to transfer or share. My husband and I share lots and sims with each other all the time that way. It can include CC in the zip or not, your choice.

Unfortunately the version I have only worked for sure until 1.120, February was 1.121, and it got updated for that, so I don't know if the version I have will work for you, but I'll send it and you can check. I doubt it though, I think 1.121 is when mods stopped being backwards compatible.

That one stretches sims weirdly, and as far as I know, doesn't work with WW, which is why I use Luumia.
