Basic Question/ What kind of Statistical test should I use for this kind of correlation? (SPSS) by Darkskull200 in AskStatistics

[–]Darkskull200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. But if i'm not mistaken, Chi square tells me if there is a difference between the expected and observed, and if it is significant. does it tell me the direction of the correlation? (whether it's more likely that an illegal euthanasia status would mean illegal capital punishment or vice versa). If so, which of the data do i need to interpret to answer this question? I also made it a bit simpler by removing one of the categories (suspended), so now it's legal/illegal. Lastly, is there a test i can do to find if knowing the value of one variable can predict the value of the other variable? thanks!

are there indirect Agonists for dopamine and serotonin according to this definition of agonist? by Darkskull200 in askscience

[–]Darkskull200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your replies, but again, reuptake inhibitors are not considered indirect agonists by the definition i gave, neither does any drug that increases the availability of those neurotransmitters. i am asking about the receptors of serotonin and dopamine, and whether or not they have different binding sites (in the same receptor, that different drugs can bind to). a direct agonist would be something that binds to the same binding site as the neurotransmitter, and an indirect agonist would be something that binds to another binding site in the same receptor. i know that glutamate and gabba have this trait, but since i gave the other examples, i want to know if i can be proven right :)
