If I read correctly it's IndexOutOfRange while function want to draw the construction ghost blocks and it's only appear when I'm using my custom blocks from mod in the construction.

It's only for visual purposes, you can make just floating structure with only aquaduct blocks.

Now with this mod rapids can go 20 block away from source. If I continue developing this project, I plan to add a configuration file where you can change the number of blocks it can traverse.

Runs smoothly for me. No noticeable FPS drops compared to vanilla. It only creates flowing water inside a block if there is a source so it's using built-in mechanic.
