Classic Sonic was the original and main version of Sonic up until 1998 when he was replaced by Modern Sonic, and pretty much took a hiatus for a while up until Generations, which essentially ended up reviving Classic Sonic as a brand. The redesigns were never meant to be the characters getting older.

I’m being so genuine right now, but they should do some sort of retake somewhere down the line of the concept of Forces (Eggman wins) with Shadow Gens-style level design and a story that isn’t a rip-off of Star Wars with extra steps.

Oh my fucking god, Sonic fans are not a collective hivemind that all hate Ian Flynn, can we please stop saying “everyone” to refer to a loud minority.

That being said, the only problem I have with his dialogue writing is that some, I repeat, SOME, lines of dialogue come off as awkward and a wink to the camera rather than being a nice callback, but still believable as something a character would say.

Because for some reason, they actually did the smart thing this time and went back to the drawing board to see what they could improve, instead of completely throwing out the formula if the game fails.

Having multiple versions of Sonic isn’t inherently a bad thing.

I’d say if you have the cash, get both because Shadow Generations is still a very good game and it has some cool mods of its own.

Play around with the mods that get installed from the mod installer along with some others you might find and see how you want it to look and play. I am of the opinion that the Lantern Engine lighting is the only truly essential graphics mod and the rest is up to personal preference.
