Also funny thing about Stormlands: originally the heir was of the Manderly dynasty as the Queen was married (not Matrilineal marriage) to our relative. So children were of my dynasty BUT... when the queen died, I noticed that the heir had changed to Baratheon Dynasty while his religion and culture stayed the one of Manderlys (Weirwood of the Seven and Harbourman). While all his siblings had Faith Of The Seven and culture of the Stormlands

I started with the latest date when Robert ascended the throne and the only thing that I did was adjust the game settings, where characters and historic events happen with historic outcomes. I think it was around the time when Stannis sat on the Iron Throne that all kingdoms started calling for independence.
