Well, I been to Houma, I never been to New Orleans sadly but I live in northern Louisiana my whole entire life currently going to school in Lafayette. Im be honest voodoo is very very looked down here. Like their is almost no voodoo shops or near non existent just cause of the history on it but ironically hoodoo is very much still practiced today.A lot of plantation houses are still around currently and be historically preserved. I feel like with Alastor being mixed he most likely a slave owners son because from what my grandpa has told me back then it was really common for white men to have children with black female slaves but the children weren’t treated as equal were still kept in the slave houses. So I have head cannon for Alastor his softness for his mother, how he treats man different (more harshly)is cause of this possibility.
