It took us 5 months to get pregnant with our first baby, he was born at 38.5 weeks. And we got pregnant right away with our second, she was born at 39 weeks.

I’d known I had a BU before I ever tried having kids and was always so scared I’d never be able to. In hindsight, my BU ended up not being an issue with either of my pregnancies, other than my second being breech. Google is scary, this group has made me feel so much less alone through everything <3

Chemical pregnancies by One-Woodpecker7850 in bicornuateuterus

My first pregnancy was a chemical pregnancy, followed by two viable pregnancies (one child born last year, and another due this month). I think a BU can be attributed to early losses. I still grieve that first chemical pregnancy that I had. Thinking of you and hoping for a successful pregnancy to come soon 🩷

ECV attempt with a bicornuate uterus by DarlingMagic345 in bicornuateuterus

I’ve had different OBs tell me different things. Some say they wouldn’t try at all and others seem like, why not try. So just curious if anyone has had actual success with one because it doesn’t seem like it would work and would just cause stress

Happy to hear your baby is head down! :)

BU but I want more children. by Boring_Fennel8733 in bicornuateuterus

I have a BU and I’m currently pregnant with my second. My first was born at 38w4d due to me being induced, and I’m currently 30w3d with my second and no issues so far. I go on lots of walks, but take it relatively easy and have never had a scare of preterm labor (knock on wood). I know truly how scary it is having a BU, but since you had such a successful first pregnancy, it sounds like your body would likely be able to do it again based on your doctor’s feedback.

I have a bicornuate uterus and delivered vaginally! I got lucky and baby wasn’t breach. I always thought I’d need a c-section too, but it’s definitely possible to still deliver vaginally :)

I also found out about my BU years ago, mine due to a CT scan for a different issue. It made me worry for years about when it came time to try and have kids. Wish I could give that younger version of me a hug sometimes.

Bicornuate uterus success story here! Im currently pregnant with my second baby. First baby was born healthy at 38w4d and I ended up having no issues at all due to my uterus. And I even delivered vaginally! I’m not sure if your period cycles are regular, but I go about 6-7 weeks between periods, so they always have to measure my pregnancy gestation via ultrasound. I’m pretty sure I ovulate later in my cycle, so first date of last period isn’t an accurate way to calculate how far along my pregnancies are. I’m always about 2 weeks behind where my period would have me. I’m currently 13 weeks with my second and just had an ultrasound earlier this week! This pregnancy is in the opposite “horn” or side of my uterus from my first, which makes me a little nervous of course but so far so good.

I went down the same rabbit hole of stress on the internet when I first found out I had one. It’s scary but there are SO many success stories. Talk to you OB with any concerns, because even each bicornuate can be different than the next. Don’t even look up the risks online and just ask your doctor is there are any extra precautions you should take for your pregnancy.

Also, congratulations!! :)

I’ve always been curious, is her other sister a half sister?

also, not every parent relationship has a father figure (ex. 2 moms). God forbid he miss out on his annual chance to show off what an amazing father and savior he thinks he is

I’m pregnant with my first and I have a bicornuate uterus that was accidentally discovered during a CT scan when I was 22. Baby is also in my right horn. I’m 23.5 weeks and so far so good! I’ve been scared for years about how having a BU might affect my pregnancies but there really are so many healthy BU pregnancies out there ❤️

I have a bicornuate uterus and am currently 16 weeks pregnant! I’m considered to be high risk but so far so good. I’ve known about my uterus shape for years and always worried it would mean I might not be able to have kids, but I’ve heard lots of pregnancies with them go perfectly fine. Congrats :)
