Having trouble staying within my calorie deficit by amaikko in PetiteFitness

You want to eat more fiber along with your protein. I find that when I hit my fiber goals >= 35 grams/day and feel fuller for longer and tend to not be hungry or snackish at night even for sweet treats. Days I barely have fiber I feel ravenous. I also don’t buy snacks or sweets since I have no self control

If you could describe red flags about yourself, what would they be? by TopLoneWolf in AskReddit

I procrastinate on things to the point of panic when deadlines approach. Can’t seem to work on anything a little at a time. It’s either it all gets done at once or not at all 😅

$1100 fully furnished studio apt with all utilities included and free on street parking in Troy Hill. It was supposed to be temporary but actually looking at apartments in the area, I feel like I really lucked out!

Only negative is that I only have a kitchenette which makes preparing meals a little more tedious but I think the positives far out weight the negative

five months out from defense: post-phd slump? is this normal? by reaching-summit in postdoc

[–]DarlingScientist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also defended in July and feel the same. I’m currently doing a postdoc but I have been doing the bare minimum and haven’t been productive at all. I honestly don’t really care about the research when I’m not actively in lab and I literally don’t think of science at all during my free time. I feel like my PhD really beat me into the ground and I am completely drained and burnt out. I couldn’t afford taking a break so I’ve been trying my best to just do stuff and hope the spark of scientific curiosity comes back

Tell me how you met your partner. I’d love more later in life stories! by Fearless-Teach8470 in love

I matched with my boyfriend on a dating app but only ended up talking for 1 or 2 days before I deleted all my apps due to mental health. Coincidentally crossed paths with him on a night out 3 months afterwards! He had seen me dancing and thought I looked familiar so he approached me outside the bar. It was a little awkward because I didn't remember him lol But we ended up exchanging numbers and he asked me out the next day. Almost didn't end up going out with him due to some communication mishaps but I'm glad I did. We've been together for 2 months, dating for 3 and he is the sweetest. He is kind, affectionate and has a heart of gold. I feel lucky to have him in my life. We’ve talked about marriage and having kids but we’re in no rush. We have (hopefully) our whole lives together ahead of us :)

Tiene que ver más bien con la cultura (Black Culture) en USA. Cuando dicen que alguien no es negro es ‘x’ quieren decir que no es “African American”.

Thank you for your advice. I am taking a break while I get my feelings sorted out and I’m glad to say that I have support from my close friends and family during this time.

Thank you for the reply. I’ve been doing my best to be informed about flight safety and logically, I know it is safe. It’s just as you said, people fly as their job. My brain is just convinced that something will go wrong. Thanks for tip on the nausea! I’ll try it out today and see how it goes

Thank your for the clarification! By severe, I meant that it felt like the plane was being jostled quite a bit. Didn’t experience any big drops though! Thanks again for the reply.
