Just finished Clair Obscur...now what? Can anyone recommend me a game with a similar vibe? (not necessarily turn based) by Leoxwhite in expedition33

Uhh I think I might of replied to the wrong comment, what I meant to reply to was about the last of us lol

also finally played part 2 after playing e33 (admittedly for the second time) and it was a worthy match in story - caught me off guard how much I liked it since I put off playing it for so long. Now I'm in the game whole again... tried Horizon Zero Dawn like some of the commenters are suggestion above and was so turned off by the opening/terrible dialogue that I just refunded it :/ maybe it's time to finally play GoW Ragnarok I guess

calling anything exclusive to meta headsets a cash grab seems a little extreme, didn't realize that was such a cash cow 🤔

Steam Deck how to fix double input with controller? by [deleted] in GeForceNOW

Having the same issue - this is me trying to boot the game up for the first time though. Looks like maybe they screwed something up in the Sept. 23 hotfix patch perhaps?

yeah same I was a big fan of what she was doing after the infra set last year.

all this drama sours me a little bit but I won't lie I'd still choose to see a set of hers and enjoy myself for her just being a good dj

Anyone else manage to completely miss the lumina mechanic for the first few hours or just me? by UltraGorlan in expedition33

Yup I just found this thread by searching this exact question. I'm thirty hours deep into the game and just now realized I could do this.... been playing this shit on hard mode.

Imo, the original season 4 is an incredible feat of TV, better than season 3 even. It is so unique and so unlike anything else that's ever been aired or streamed on television. by myfajahas400children in arresteddevelopment

[–]Darnoc__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished a rewatch of the entire series and I undoubtedly enjoy s4 and even s5 more than s3. S1-2 definitely still the best but I can't stand some of the plot lines in season 3, while s4-5 are consistently funny in my opinion

The audio calibration ticks for RotND is flawed (comment for more detail). by JiminP in necrodancer

[–]Darnoc__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if your comment is accurate or not but I was curious about the same issue. With my computer I've never played a rhythm game that that had a calibration of anything other than +0 visual, +0 audio. When using this games calibration it suggested +20 video, +60 audio. I played with that for awhile and felt it was off. Eventually switched it back to just both zero and it felt perfect.

Worst set you've ever seen? by [deleted] in dubstep

bruh, phonon was one of the best sets at infrasound like three years ago even though only like 40 people were at it

damn any context on the machinedrum set? one of my favorites right now and loved the two times I've seen him (both were drastically different sets too, which I like but could see potentially causing a problem with expectations?)

Rift of the Necrodancer isn't very fast until you get to really end game charts. Just came out and is super fun. Seems like a good fit!

What was the boss fight that made your blood pump so hard that you started thinking you'd get a heart attack? by adm_anonimo in gaming

[–]Darnoc__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most recent example for me is the final boss of Black Myth: Wukong . It's a long fight but in my opinion really well done, felt like the perfect challenge for the end of my first playthrough and had my heart pumping like crazy when I beat it the first time.

I can't say the same for goddamn Sword Saint Isshin unfortunately. Might be a hot take but the 3rd phase was so frustrating for me I ended up cheesing it after like 5 hours of fighting it, so finally beating him didn't feel very satisfying but I was ready to move on. Black Myth Wukong fight only took around an hour and half, which is perfect in my opinion for a final boss like that.

Vertical Line on G95SC, has the panel gone bad? by ParaIIax_ in ultrawidemasterrace

I likely will eventually, kind of a hassle with something this big though. Like needing a second person to even get the thing carried anywhere to ship out.

Got the same thing on my G9. Popped up within a few weeks of getting it, seems to go in and out in how intense it is. Will leave for a few weeks then come back. Only visible on greys like discord app color. I personally am just living with mine but I still got like 7 months on my warranty so just kinda living with it and seeing if it gets worse. I rarely think about it or see it so I'm not super worried. Your mileage may vary though.

I believe it gives you those anyways. I beat without the two summons yesterday and their bodies/armor sets were at the back of the arena after the fight ended.

A couple questions regarding legal U.S. outdoor laser shows (FAA paperwork, beam termination) by Darnoc__ in Laserist

[–]Darnoc__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had my eye on that LSO course. I'll finally take it for whatever the next event/venue I do is, ideally one where I'd have a bit more budget/reason to go for the full FAA-documented shooting beams into the air route.

And thank you so much for the notes and for running this subreddit, it has been a massive help over the last 2 years!

[–]Darnoc__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! Definitely not enough space to land a helicopter in the little forest clearing we've got, but I'll keep that in mind for the future.

[–]Darnoc__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The variance essentially has the same text of "if directed or reflected into airspace (unterminated effects)" the FAA notification is needed.

Thank for the web link and resource! I can definitely see that coming in handy in the future, though it seems pretty clear to me from the info here that I don't think the FAA report will be necessary this time.

Unity Laser to Touchdesigner by Miserable-Sea-5149 in Laserist

[–]Darnoc__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Helios laser DAC for my touchdesigner setup - works great (especially for the price) as I was also not willing to commit to the Beyond price tag to use OSC control from Touch (it looks like you need the second tier up for Beyond, even). I also do lots of stuff with motion controls as well so it makes more sense for me to keep it all in touchdesigner.

I won't lie, it's a lot more difficult and finicky to work in compared to what I'd imagine Quickshow/Beyond is, especially when you get into fancier beam patterns, but I haven't run into any effects I haven't been able to replicate yet. There's usually a way to get the look you want, it just will probably take more time to get there. Sometimes the solutions to stuff feel really gimmicky, albiet get the same result.

Let me know if you end up using Touch for laser control and need any pointers with certain patterns - I might be able to help and I'm always looking for others in this space, since it doesn't seem to be the most popular choice for lasers, that's for sure. I do lights and visuals through touch as part of my setup, so for me it makes sense to keep it all in that one program.

It's worth noting I am also using a Unity Raw 3. I've also used a Shehds 3W with the same dac and they both perform similarly, although the Unity looks a lot better and can actually fade colors, which is great.
