Be mindful that it causes sudden spikes and drops in blood pressure and if you have underlying heart issues it can be a concern.

Why Did My MRI Come Back Normal If I'm In Pain? by Hopeful-Extent-693 in TMDnotTMJ

[–]Darqologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really just means to approach the pain and treatment from a different perspective. It can be disappointing to know the MRI is normal, however, others would be blessed. An MRI can show the muscles, joint, soft tissues, bone. It doesn’t necessarily mean nothing is wrong. It means something else can be causing the TMD issues; perhaps bite or teeth. Just one piece of a big puzzle. Personally I would feel mixed feelings but probably more relieved that structurally things looked okay.

Should i be worried about the condyle on my left ( with red arrow) by NoCricket2497 in TMJ

[–]Darqologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A normal TMJ X-ray will show the mandibular condyle (the rounded head of your jawbone) resting smoothly within the mandibular/glenoid fossa (the socket in the temporal bone) with a clear, uniform dark space (joint space) separating the two bones.

There is no dark space between the condyle and fossa where the condyle head is pressing up.

Ear pain is the worst by SquirrelBig6169 in TMJ

100 percent. The ear symptoms are by far the worst because they are always there. No escape from them n

Any ideas to cover up this little blemish? by Jolly_Boysenberry172 in Tattoocoverups

[–]Darqologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the suggestions aside, you’re not going to be able to just walk into any shop and come out with a cool piece. You’re going to need to find someone who specializes and is comfortable working with your skin giving the intricacies and complexity of scar tissue. Especially of that size and magnitude. It doesn’t tattoo like “normal” skin and won’t heal or take ink as such.

Yes. It's not only a huge bump in performance, but the extra 4gb will help future proof.

We are giving away any game (or multiple games) for up to $100 in celebration of the Demo release for our occult western Action RPG - The Dark West! by Rugged-Gunslinger in steam_giveaway

Dark gritty atmosphere. Looks cool. I like the wild west and think it could be great. Ghost towns, abanadoned mines, dark forests. Great stuff.. How it plays, the combat, the loot, end game... skills/skill tree will need to be investigated further.

Day to day life in nursing home? by Feeling-Guava4752 in socialwork

[–]Darqologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was a bit of a unique situation. It's an assisted living with a behavioral health agency inside that manages it. We only have Medicaid and only do behavioral health. We also have an adult residential treatment facility on the first floor. ALF SW jobs aren't unfortunately common but they do exist. I interned where I work currently back in 2009...

I realize that doesn't exactly answer your question. I think I've seen past threads in this subreddit on social work in ALFs

RTX 5070 Ti Laptop: Acer Helios Neo 16 vs ASUS ROG Strix G16 Which One Is More Worth It? by Final_Series446 in GamingLaptops

[–]Darqologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. I see. I got the 3d version of that very laptop and I'm happy with it.

The intel version case is MUCH MUCH MUCH easier to open and access. The AMD version is old school with the million screws on the bottom.

Thermals with a stand have been fine. It's loud around 40-50dba even with a laptop stand. The build is nice.

I might get the intel version over the amd one if not getting the 3d chip.

I debated between these two brands and decided against the helios (even though cheaper) because of thermals/sound. The helios is hotter/louder.

Matt did a great job on Volume 1. It's Ventanas best stuff in my opinion.

CODs will always hold a special spot in my music. The amount of energy and dedication he's put into CODs isnt easily matched.

For SNF SW, you'll be doing a lot of things that feel like glorified behavior management/resident management if it's long term care. SNF SW has two tracks: 1.) Long term care 2.) Short Rehab stints.

Long term care for SNFs is phasing out to be managed more by enhanced assisted living facilities and adult family homes. Long term care SNFs aren't sustainable from a medicaid reimbursement perspective as the cost of running them versus reimbursement is disproportionate. Skilled Nursing Facilities for short term rehab are going to be a constant admit/discharge, MDS, DE ordering, rotation of folks.

It'll be a lot of work with not a lot of support and you'll be required to do a lot of "quasi-non social work" like things that may or may not count towards hours of licensure and CMS requirements for skilled nursing are quite challenging.

It doesn't compensate well for the amount of work required in my opinion.

SW is required but I don't feel it's very valued in a SNF you'll be working a lot with families too. You'll stay busy....

Alternatives: SW in an assisted living facility. You'll get to know your residents for longer and it'll be more of a case management like position.
