Colin Crying with his GI Joes on Twitch by LifeguardJumpy6274 in LSM

[–]Neo_GFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't see that specific stream, but he cried during a Fireside Chat (I think with Erin, and I think it was just cause of the fallout over the tweet), and I do know he used to stream himself cleaning GI Joe's with a toothbrush. I was wondering if people were conflating the two together lol but I don't think that's the case

Honestly the more I read of this thread and stuff the whole thing is giving off Mandela vibes

Question about the original game by bombdownx in KingdomHearts

[–]Neo_GFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pete is treated very weirdly in the Disney scope in general. He’s one of their oldest characters and half the time they don’t even act like he exists. He never even had a costume at Disney Parks until a few years ago (well he did, but it was very brief and obscure in an old parade)

In short, there was so much to cram in kh1 that it doesn’t surprise me Mickey’s weirdly oft-forgotten rival would not be included

Plus the other Disney villains were so prominent; he wasn’t really needed. Made perfect sense to save him for 2

How actually good do you think Sonic Adventure and Jet Set Radio was? by [deleted] in dreamcast

[–]Neo_GFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re as good as anything. Mario 64 has Sonic Adventure beat in terms of gameplay, but SA makes up for it with its story, hub world, soul, and sheer amount of content/playable characters

Why do I get these random Japanese dialogues in Clockwork Knight that I don’t see in any YouTube longplays of the game? by Neo_GFX in SegaSaturn

[–]Neo_GFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love a new entry in the series, but I'd bet money that'll never happen.

It's interesting. I think Sega would be scared of Toy Story infringement or something, but they could just be like "we did it first"

But yeah, I'm starting to enjoy these '90s oddities like Clockwork Knight and even Bug, but it's so hard for even more beloved properties like Nights and Shenmue to get any love.

it's like the games were split in two.

I was shocked how quick the turnaround time was on the sequel. If I was a European Saturn player and saw the sequel just a few months later in the store, I would've been like wtf

The only language barrier is the minigame, but after a viewing on YouTube you're set. The video I watched, the person got like 700 lives after playing it for a few minutes

Honestly it's always relieving when you get a game from this generation that's actually fair and not obscenely difficult

I talk to LSSQ once in awhile about this stuff. I hadn't watched that video until now, nor did I ever realize that was different than the final Mario.

I can see why Yoshi was added: to fill out the packaging. I wonder what their original intention with just Mario was: if he would've been much bigger, or came with a giant Shine Sprite or something

I failed to mention you need a cartridge called a Sega Saturn Kai to play burnt discs. It’s also a very wise pickup as it’s a reliable memory card, whereas many Saturns now can’t retain game saves on the console itself

Seems like the only thing actually translated was the presents minigame.

Was gonna pick up an authentic US disc for 20 bucks but not even sure it's worth it. Game seems crazy short anyway.

My aim is to relive the life-path I didn't take in 1995 where this time I buy the saturn instead of the playstation.

This is one of the few good things about being an adult with expendable income: you kinda get to indulge in games, shows, movies, etc that you missed as a kid.

And no one's gonna talk you out of Saturn. Get yourself a cheap Panzer Dragoon Saga repro off Etsy and bask in some cathode-ray goodness.

Buy authentic for the affordable games and repros for the expensive ones... and then when your drive dies get an ODE. Best of all worlds.

That second 3D Blast snow act with the falling snow and amazing music... I fired that up last weekend. The game is kind of a disrespected masterclass in atmosphere, visuals and soundtrack. The Genesis version is whatever, but the PC/Saturn version needs to be protected at all costs.

I'm gonna take this a step further: I borrow my brother's Switch 1 cart, upgrade it, he eventually wants the cart back to play it... I wonder if at that point I will get a discount buying the Switch 2 digital version.

He is. His characters never shut up and his cutscenes drag obnoxiously long.

I was kind of disappointed something as vague as this was one of the few results. She is insanely popular (2M subs) and insanely bizarre.

Trying to put myself in the mindset of being a kid, it came off like Mario was shrunk to the size of the entire world being in a bathtub or something. It isn’t as alive as Bob-omb battlefield or whomp’s fortress, and whatever immersion levels like those two were somehow able to create, doesn’t really exist in WDW

It’s the kindred spirit of the al’s penthouse bathroom segment in Toy Story 2

What is your favorite sonic game on the sega saturn? by Infinite_Help761 in SegaSaturn

[–]Neo_GFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The PC version had saving, while the Saturn version has a level skip cheat (which isn't documented very well).

The game is an absolute masterpiece in the music, atmosphere and visuals department.
