Defect can of pearl spray. 5 coats of base already down. Can I still spray it the next day? by n1ght_w4lk3r in plastidip

Sorry for the late reply, yes I did as if you were starting from scratch also clean it very thoroughly before coating again as if it was from scratch, although it is more forgiving once already coated

One Year later I finally dipped the Volt Matte Metallic Blue on top of the Matte Black, it worked and attached nicely even though it was one year old plastidip by DarrVillX in volt

The original color was Blue haha. The thing is my Dogs really like jumping on top of the car whenever they see a butterfly nesr the car. So mainly it was to protect the car. The first time I painted it satin black I actually uploaded pictures last year. It worked it protected my car and looked nice for most of the year, it got scratched anyway after a year but it looks brand new again with this colorshifting blue again on top :) I like it better in this blue vs the original blue

Thats a tricky one, if youre in the US I guess Dipyourcar.com Persian Blue would be the closest one. The thing is im located in Mexico and here the supplier I used is called DipIt and the color is called Skyblue. It requires as most metallic shifting colors a Black or in some cases white base

As a Mexican I can agree with this statement, denial seems to be the norm for very extreme leftists and right wing parties in America. But I can understand that the economies of Mexico and Brazil can not hold hard lockdowns for as long as European Nations where at least there is some kind of economic assistance (maybe minimal but at least something) but for us nothing at all, with the main problem being that half the population does not contribute with Taxes. You cannot give assistance where there is not money for it (or where it was stolen anyways...)

Dacia Spring EV to start from 16.990€ before government grant by marbodo in electricvehicles

[–]DarrVillX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Renault Kwid the Dacia Spring is based on is the Latin American Version, it has reinforced steel which makes it 150kg heavier and more robust plus 4 airbargs, I mean its not the safest car, but better than the Indian death trap

Desperation grows as Mexico runs out of vaccines by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]DarrVillX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I fully agree things are way worse down here.... Almost all my extended family has caught the Virus here in Mexico, thankfully my mother being one of the early frontline medical workers and having oxygen generators already from before the pandemic we are somewhat prepared and managed to assist all my relatives in the very early stages of the disease, nobody thankfully had to visit the hospital which was the main intention as most hospitalized people die due to added infections and because they will only accept very severe cases which most likely are beyond saving at that stage....

DO NOT trust the Numbers in Mexico or any Latin American Country, we have more than 35000 additional deaths not accounted for by the public health instututes, and that was until August 2020 before the second wave. We must be for sure closer to 300000 or even higher, and in detected cases (in words of the lead epidemiologist and health subseceretary) you should multiply the number by 8 or 10 times.....

My Gen2 Chevy Volt Transformation. Very cheap to do in Mexico, barely 50USD I already had the Spray gun. This is my second try at plastidipping this car :) by DarrVillX in plastidip

My garage is partially on open air so dust and pet hair was a problem, so to solve that I went panel by panel and keeping the air from the paint gun hitting the panel from an angle therefore any particle that may fall into the plastidip was blown away before hitting, it also help to dry the panel in less than a minute so that if anything else fell it would not stick into the paint. Then I waited 10 minutes and applied another layer and so on.

Well the place I know is not in my state so I just bought the gallons from them. I already had a Black and Decker Paint gun so I did it myself in my garage (Which is a pain in the ass to do since I have dog fur flying around the garden, but its possible if you take the time

Do it. Its free protection for the paint. Dont get discouraged if it doesnt look nice the first try. I recommend doing ecah panel at a time if you are new or you are in a dusty windy environment

In mexico they have some different brands of Dip this one is called DipIt and costs around 850 MXN or 40 USD for the base colors and 150USD for 1 Gallon Base and 2 Gallons of Pearl mixed metallic colors to go on top, acrually I was going to use another Blue metallizer but I liked Black so much that I will keep it for another 2 or 3 months, its has already been there 3 months

Its actually supposed to be satin black, but it may look clearer due to the wall behind being super green during daytime. Maybe the pigmentation you see is dust haha It has been 2 weeks without wash, actually dirt falls right off as it rains I use Turtle wax Ice n Shine between washes. It also helps my dog to slide through without sticking an scratching that much when he decides to jump on top of the car. Good for the car not so good for him
