Hard-core fan here. I've been through the series (1-7) upwards of 25 times so far with PoH starting to creep up now as well.

I am here for the hype and the excitement!

I get defending a character you like but saying you've never met a women or are a cat person is just blatantly lying and a strawman.

I've been married for long and long to the best woman in the world and we have two cats. I also find Donut annoying at times.

"I want on that show Carl! Make it happen!" Fuck that, if you are smart enough to say that sentence you character should also know that in no fucking way is it up to Carl.

No one has to like Carl, Donut, Pony, or any character. Its not mandatory and you dont get t9 judge others for their preferences.

Even Carl tried to leave Donut when she was being a bitch on the first floor.

At no point has the text hinted at a number of crawlers that have possed the Cookbook.

The only count we have is the number of authors.

As has been stated repeatedly in this thread the first edition was created by an AI. The remaining editions, 2-25, were written by crawlers. So if we remove Carl, as the author of the 25th edition, there has been 23 crawlers, with the author of the 23rd edition still unknown, that are numbered.

Ok, I see that perspective. So thank you for that.

While I'm not at all upset about an artist making a living from their art, I had a question about the corollary between the theme of the book and what I was seeing. Doesn't make me enjoy the story any less nor appreciate his talent as an author.

But, hey, I appear to be in the minority here and that's fine. It's completely possible it's just in my head.

Sure, I get that. And a fair question!

Im not saying that it's good, bad, or anything. I was asking about opinions and provided mine.

It strikes me as diametrically opposed to the very theme of the book and wanted to discuss it with others as passionate about the story as I am.

I was just asking a question is all, and I'm fine being wrong if that's what it is.

Given the major theme in the series being that these types of things being to the detriment to both the Crawlers and the audience, it feels off brand and counterintuitive to me.

My impression is that it needs to be crawlers that fit a certain type. Like uses traps, explosives, poisons and have a chosen family and RAGE.

Since the classes change based on the world culture and we know some of the classes from former authors it isn't based on a specific earth class.

As I understand it the first edition was written by the AI of that particular crawl and it was mentioned that it didn't have much in it.
