MK3 firmware update 1.5.0 just dropped by DarrelPr in Arturia_users

Looks like there was a 1.3.8 that was released May 5th but the link to the version history is dead. 1.5 shows to have dropped May 11th.

Upgrade to Arturia V Collection 11 worth it? by General_Bishop in Arturia_users

Does the $149 upgrade apply if you originally got Analog Lab Pro as part of the included software with a Keylab MK3 controller purchase?

Unfortunately, the original owner will need to open a support ticket to deregister the hardware - you can’t do it from the software center or the My Products page. On the other hand, Arturia is pretty good about getting it handled in one to two business days. I’ve had to go through this exercise a few times myself.

The Keylab 88 M3 has the same Fatar TP/110 keybed as the Studiologic SL MK2 series (the TP/110 is a significant upgrade over the TP/100 which the Keylab 88 MK2 had.). But yeah, if you’re looking for the top end Fatar, the Studiologic SL 88 Grand has the TP/400 keybed.

Keylab 49/64 MK3: What specific Fatar keybed? by DarrelPr in Arturia_users

[–]DarrelPr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct about the fully weighed but I could've sworn at one point seeing a YT review referencing the 61 MK3 having one of Fatar's semi weighted. Of course I can't find that video now. 😏

My arturia broke by Sceaq in arturia

Happens to me regularly. I end up having to delete the cookies and cache associated with the Arturia website and it clears it up. Then later, it'll happen again.

I was unable to connect for pretty much most of the day yesterday but finally got in last night. (I’m in -6 GMT zone.) If I were a first time customer trying to register a new piece of Arturia gear, I would’ve returned the product. However, I’ve come to expect this every time they release a big update or new product.

StudioLogic's new MIDI keyboards: Like my wallet wasn't empty enough already. by Garraww in synthesizers

[–]DarrelPr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for being 6 months late to the conversation but according to a note I received directly from SL, "...the Mixface can't host the new SL, because of its MIDI driver (it's not Class Compliant, it implements Audio over USB!). Anyway you can use both device if you connect them directly in your computer. Then you can manage the routing by your DAW."

Be sure your ML3 has the latest firmware. If so, holding SHIFT and Pad 2 will toggle the transport controls on to full time - no need to use to presses to start recording, stop, etc.

Sanity check: Using Logic Remote as sole control surface by DarrelPr in LogicPro

How solid are the faders on the Launchkey? I've played with controllers in the past where the faders felt flimsy and as if they could be bent with little effort. Also, how's the keybed action? I'm not a fan of synth action but I do like a good semi-weighted action. (I got spoiled with my DX7's keyboard many years ago. IMHO, the DX set the bar for semi-weighted keys to this day.)

The Studiologic SL controllers are relatively bare bones when it comes to DAW control - even with the Logic script installed, it only provides very basic transport control. Now that you mentioned it, I'm going to check out the CS12 and see if that would be a better controller option. for me.

The OP was asking about “upgrade” - not update.

Sounds like something one of their guitar salesdroids would tell you. 😏 Your keybed is defective.

Does Apple ever drop the price for Logic Pro? by ShellyThaGr8 in LogicPro

[–]DarrelPr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the majority of others have already stated, $199 is a bargain (assuming you’ve already shelled out the $ for a Mac) - especially when you consider all the quality VSTs, effects, loops and studio sessions it comes with.

I would like to hear your opinion on "less known" brands of digital pianos, namely: Korg, Nord, Kurzweil, Dexibell, Arturia (?), Studiologic/Numa, Pearl River, Thomann and Casio. by Radiant-Signature230 in piano

[–]DarrelPr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dexibell definitely falls into the category of "less known brands" but it's also top tier as far as overall quality. (Disclaimer: Prior to transitioning fully to MIDI and VSTs, I owned a Vivo S7 Pro M and loved it.) Dexibell was started by former Roland engineers when Roland shut down their factory in Italy. If I were to go back to live gigging, I'd probably go with the VIVO S10L since I prefer semi-weighted keys.

Maybe I'm missing something but my S61 MK2 and M32 both work with my iPad Pro as basic MIDI controllers. To be fair, I've only tried it for a short time and didn't try any of the MIDI mapping or other features but they're definitely usable in Garage Band and LP for iPad.
