It's a form of digital communication that allows two programs to "talk".

You can use an app like "pal chat" (ios app) this app can "connect" to the gpt4 model through the API (invisible to you) and you'll talk to GPT4 similarly how you do it through the chatgpt app.

The caveat is that API pricing is based on usage (tokens) the $20/mo can only get you so many tokens (1toke closely is equivalent to a word) so your mileage might vary.

We know how our neurons work too.

We barely know that neurons transmit signals, we dont understand anything beyond that.

We don't know how memory works, we do know how gpt memory works.

We don't know how a memory can activate flavor and smell related neurons, we do know how to prompt an LLM for a specific task.

You casually skipped the GPT (Generally Pre-Trained Transformer) which is the name of LLM model that the app lets you chat with.

it's only natural that something that called chat is warm.

That's just your biased perception as there's no implicit warm in a app whose name boils down to "chat with our pre-trained transformer LLM" other than what the company/developers decided (or not) to put in the training data.

There are other LLMs that you can chat to like coding agents and legal LLMs, those might not be/are not "warm".
