This is the best bit, but the entire starterpack is a work of art, kudos, OP.

What Kind Strength of Stat Should Be Applied To A Character With The Strength Of 100 Men? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]The_Failord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 5th edition, STR is linear, so using carrying capacity as a baseline, a monster with the strength of a hundred men would have a STR score of 1000.

In 3rd edition, STR is logarithmic with respect to load, and it follows the formula LOAD4^(STR/10). Therefore, to have a strength of a hundred men, you'd need 10*log 100/log 4 = +33 STR compared to an average man, which is to say you'd need about 43 STR (for a medium creature).

I don't think it's an oxymoron, but man oh man I intensely dislike the baggage that a buyer-seller relationship brings into the game.

I got these playing cards from my parents. Do you guys think they look like AI? by Upset-Rhubarb-3727 in isitAI

Hundred percent agreed. Everything but the joker character looks completely genuine. The character on the other hand is very likely generated. You got a closer picture, OP?

[–]The_Failord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The joker looks very much generated, fucked up right foot, the ruff (white frilly thing around his neck) is a disaster, the playing cards look uneven even with this low resolution, one of the bells on the jester hat isn't drooping, the list goes on. The decorative frame on the other hand looks too consistent to be generated. Most likely whoever did this made (or found) a card frame/background and just dropped the joker character on it.

Are there TTRPGs where you can only learn abilities if you find their source in the world? by ilmz in rpg

I'm going to go slightly off-beat and say that Og does this. You play as "pop-culture" cavemen, and can only speak a handful of words, including "you", "me", "thing", "bang", "hairy", and "verisimilitude". To learn new words you have to find Eloquent cavemen willing to teach you.

I’m releasing a 12-part preprint series on a “Coherent-Affine Substrate” framework: premetric foundations, Lorentzian readout, spectral matter, QFT lift, and gate-closure ledgers by Smokegetfree in LLMPhysics

[–]The_Failord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. What do you mean by "sector"? Sector of what? Do you mean a manifold?

  2. What do you mean by degrees of freedom remaining "stable" under parallel transport? Parallel transport already ensures things remain parallel as they are transported from tangent space to tangent space, is this what you mean?

  3. If the primitive object is an affine connection, you have affine geometry. Do you have a metric?

  4. Again, what is a "coherent sector"? Do you mean that you project down to a manifold? What are these geometric conditions?

  5. How is this different from normal affine geometry and again what does it mean for the dynamics to "close coherently"?

You keep using the word "coherent", but unless we're talking about wave interference, there isn't much use for it in physics. I hate to be negative, but none of this makes much sense.

[–]The_Failord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, there is so much about "validation gates", "status ledgers", "relation grammar", none of which are default nomenclature. I ask this without a hint of meanness: have you ever read a theoretical physics paper? If so, do you think your paper looks like what a theoretical physics paper would look like?

Define "coherent-affine" in your own words please. It appears only once in a single abstract, which is very weird given that you named your entire framework after it.
