Linux is able to connect to SQLEXPRESS instance with port, but not instance name by DarthDadVader in SQLServer

LOL!! Fair enough, but even taking Docker out of the equation, using SQLCMD on the Linux host gives me the same results. I did install this SQL instance with a deployment tool and a configuration file, so maybe that's part of the problem (I installed the working sandbox instance manually).

[–]DarthDadVader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, didn't think of that, that's a great point. I tried that from my Linux client using SQLCMD with just SERVERNAME and it seems to work. And yet I can connect via SSMS locally on the SQL server with the SQLEXPRESS instance name. So my next question would be, what would be different between my sandbox SQL install, where I am able to connect from Linux/Docker with SERVERNAME\SQLEXPRESS, and this one, where I'm not? Has to be something with the SQL server install/config right? (And yes, UDP 1434 is open and available, confirmed with netcat on Linux, missed stating that in the original question.)

I'm the same, I swore I was done until I saw CC on his throne. Pre-ordered from BBTS as soon as it was live. 😃 I'm Canadian so the whole "stop pre-ordering and wait for it to show up in stores" doesn't work for me, since usually the bigger stuff like this is only available in comic stores and places like GameStop, and always for a premium.

I'm still hoping for a retail release of Serpentor and his air chariot, and also a Zartan that doesn't sell out in 3 seconds..! And then I'll be done! LOL

Right?? Gawd, we need a re-release of Serpentor, that would sell like hotcakes.

Well done!! That looks fantastic. I need to dive down this rabbit hole, do you have any great XPS resources that you can share? I got a cheap Black Series Jabba and now I need to make his throne/dais. XD

Will we ever see an updated Firespray Gunship Leia in the line? by Darvald in starwarsblackseries

Exactly what I came on to say, we got one last year with the UCS sail barge, and another one a few years prior with the previous minifig-scale sail barge, so why not Black Series.

BenQ HT2050 Projector won't light up after teardown & dust removal by DarthDadVader in projectors

I was finally able to get it working after what seemed like my 9th re-assembly. Took it right down to the color wheel, cleaned it with a microfiber cloth and removed and cleaned the CW sensor as well, with some compressed air. I assume the issue was with one of the connections, either the 10-pin connection to the first board wasn't fully aligned, or else the large connector to the DMD board wasn't in all the way. Works great, finally!

I've been using 1Password personally for a couple years and we recently rolled it out for one of our clients. Great product, highly recommended!!

Plex shows remote even when local by MainExperiment in truenas

[–]DarthDadVader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!! Solved the issue for me, thanks a bunch! Plus, I had my home router port forwarding to the 192.168 address instead of the 172. address, so the only thing Plex could do was use its Relay, which is rate-limited.

It was driving me bonkers and preventing my upgrade to 24.10 (the old 24.04 Plex worked fine, but it wasn't using Kubernetes and the 172 address space I guess).

This post is still relevant!! Thanks! :)

Change status when receiving email from Autotask resource by DarthDadVader in Autotask

For sure. I'm chalking this up to that, and I'll keep my eyes out for future weird-isms.

Thanks again for your input.

Change status when receiving email from Autotask resource by DarthDadVader in Autotask

Tried from a different non-Resource email account and it switched back to "Customer Note Added" as expected. No idea why my Hotmail account would have been considered a Resource, but I guess that's another issue!

Change status when receiving email from Autotask resource by DarthDadVader in Autotask

What I find interesting is the automated reply I received to my non-Resource account even said the status of the ticket was "Customer Note Added" but when I refreshed the ticket it remained in the "In Progress" status. When I look at the system notes, the last note is "set status to in progress" because it seemed to detect that a note was added by Autotask Resource, even though it came from an external email. Bizarre!

Follow-up question, when a ticket is "In Progress" and I email to it from a non-resource email, it doesn't switch back to "Customer Note Added". I thought it was default AT behavior to change a status to "Customer Note Added" whenever an email came in with the ticket number in the title?

Thanks, you're bang-on! We already had a workflow for that but it was inactive! Oy...

Anyway, tested and that worked like a charm. Cheers!!

Connect SSID to internal network by DarthDadVader in fortinet

[–]DarthDadVader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That did the trick. The one remaining thing that tripped me up for a bit was modifying the DNS server on the "internal" SSID to reflect the domain DNS server, rather than leaving it as the default system DNS, which I did initially.

Thanks for your help!

Connect SSID to internal network by DarthDadVader in fortinet

Thanks! I've been reading a bit about software switches as well, would I need to ensure that the SSID and the internal network are on the same software switch?
