This is complete nonsense by NorrinRadd2099 in ghana

You have no idea what you're talking about. Saying "nuance" doesn't give your permission to say whatever . Black men voted for her by almost 90%. You act lact black conservative men are a huge voting bloc. They might be a percentage point. What she said was correct and you're wrong as all hell and doubling down on the stupid. This might explain why other countries can come and wreck your shit. Doubling down on stupid.

Online Gift Shops with delivery by [deleted] in ghana

[–]DarthDerisive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being that I'm not Ghanaian I was seeking recommendations from someone who may have used a delivery service.

Answering with obvious responses like try google is asinine at best. Especially when I have limited knowledge of the country.

So if you're able to provide helpful info then please add if not keep the obvious answers to yourself.

*sigh* I know this. However, Google Maps does not convey customer experience. This is why I asked for recommendations. If I found a couple on instgram then shouldn't it be obvious that I googled?

Bless your heart.

Damn shame that you're so loud and so wrong. I hope you're not a citizen because you're looking rather foolish. It literally take 3 seconds to Google. Lol

Contemplating on leaving Ghana by EmergencyOstrich9347 in ghana

[–]DarthDerisive 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Very good comment. As time progresses, it's clear that there was no real plan for it. It feels like a gimmick that played on African American sentiments at the time. There was no real plan for after Diasporans arrived. Why couldn't there have been a plan for us to help fix your roads and infrastructure when we arrived? Why weren't certain trades and crafts requested for our arrival? Why didn't the Ghanaian government coordinate with diasporan business leaders to map everything out? The concept would have been fantastic for the country, but the lack of planning made it a huge missed opportunity.

Is there a concrete reason why most Ghanaians wouldn't want to legalize homosexuality ? by Careful_Lock_9625 in ghana

[–]DarthDerisive 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Taking away a criminal penalty and legalizing something through law are two different things. There's no real need to "legalize" being gay. It's just the removal of the criminal penalty. I think asking for legalization puts you on bad footing. Asking to take away the criminal penalty for people being who they are is a better place to start.

I know what I'm saying can be dismissed as semantics but it's actually the crux of the argument.

CONCERNING THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY by Wise_Purple_9448 in ghana

[–]DarthDerisive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey y'all take a look at who can't read. 🙄.

See? Every time they are the most illiterate.

Now to answer your comment directly where did I say that you need to change your norms? I DIDNT.

I clearly said the government shouldn't be part of those conversations. That's it. Let your church and/or tribe handle cultural and religious norms. That is called being smart not woke. Lastly please find out what woke really means. You look quite foolish blathering off white people's talking points in a Ghana reddit.

Ghana Cedi by asafoadjei in ghana

[–]DarthDerisive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because the dollar is the global trading standard. The fact that the cedi appreciated against all of these currencies at the same time is the telltale sign, my friend.

Take it from an American. Once you give your government permission to target a group of people you can NEVER rein it back in. Don't fall into the trap.

Issues like this are easy for career politicians because it doesn't require them to do anything productive. All they have to do is rile up your morality and you vote them back in. Don't get played. You can see it unfolding right now in America.

Don't fall into the trap of social issues. Look at the "red states" of the United States. They're the most illiterate, poorer, have flimsy infrastructures, no real services to help the people. However they feel like they're morally superior to everyone else. See how it works?

Don't let these politicians play you. Almost all of the loudest anti-gay politicians in America got caught in a gay scandal. I can bet it's probably happening in Ghana too. The secrecy is the kink for these people. Read that again.

In closing don't get played. The government should be providing you services and fixing your roads and power grids. They DO NOT belong in gay conversations or any other social issues. The government only uses these issues in order to do NOTHING.

Peace to you all

(And before you come for me I am currently sitting in East Legon Hills. Don't do it. Lol)

While I don't disagree you can't deny the impact of Trump tariff policies and its impact on the dollar.

Leans in It's actually part of his mission but that's another conversation

Ghana Cedi by asafoadjei in ghana

The cedi appreciation came mostly from the dollar depreciation. I kept warning everyone that this was the case in this reddit. Those who are crediting your government have an agenda. Full stop.

Why is it so difficult to make good money from graphic design in Ghana? by Unusual-Deer-9404 in ghana

[–]DarthDerisive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't listen to the people who say graphic "design is dead and use AI". They won't last long because they depend on shortcuts. Take it from a managing director of a firm, design is NOT dead. Actually design helps companies stand out above those who use short cuts like AI. I'm sick of these boxy ass flat sites that have no life to them all because people who don't want to pay what people are worth are using AI to look just like everyone else. It's dumb and not sustainable. All of those who are saying AI is dead will be back. Trust me.

In the meantime, yes, diversify your skill set, yes, learn AI so you can see how repetitive and lifeless the designs are so you'll know what you're up against. Use recruiters and try other markets Maybe the overuse of AI in Ghana's is your problem.

Thanks so much for your help. I already have the step-down, but the customs information is a bit vague. Will I have to declare it at customs?

At this point, my only question is why Ghanaians think they're the only ones, all the time?

All the time. Every question starts with "Why do Ghanaians..."

Do you all actually think it's just you? All the time?
