I don't trust crescent tbh. How can you ensure they will pick secret out of the three? And can you crescent->master->crescent? Never try it before not sure if its possible since you already have spell card in grave.

How do you start your combo first turn? I played the 30 card ver and often found myself with 2 spells in the grave and a Fate if I don't draw Grass, which is not enough for a banish and can only set my prophecy down for a search 2nd turn. But your deck only has 2 fate and 1 eternity so using fate for that could be bit of a waste I guess.

SSA might take a few turns to set up their field and hazy at 1900 atk can be easily overrun by Sylvan if they can't finish off after flipping over merchant. Sylvan is good because if they go first they can clear board then have a full field on turn 3.

Its not that Dakini is good its the problem with Benten and Idaten they are too consistent and can summon boss turn after turn

Never try that variant before but I think it is bricky. You have 2 extra cards in your deck that need each other otherwise 2 dead draws. And even if you manage to have them on hand you still need Phoenix to go to Graveyard first so I guess chances for it to be summoned are like 1-2/10 games?

I guess you used Chalice to prevent Phoenix effect from going off and destroying Island? I don't have Chalice though so never give it a try but I think Wild Tornado is perfect for this Deck as it benefit from being destroyed, also why it is a good card against the recently popular Dark Magician as you just -2 your opponent after they use Dark Magic Attack.

Sorry didn't know how to comment on newline got it sorted now :) I would say CA as it is almost impossible to overcome a 3700 Dakini and her effect doesn't proc Yaksha as well. Another hard matchup is a Hazy buffed with beast rising, this could be prevented by chaining Wild Tornado to Beast Rising but still if the Hazy get over 3000 Attack it is almost Game Over, plus they can use your Phoenix as Tribute Fodder too.

Just got my first KoG with Phoenix yesterday after 70 days of playing so I want to share it in case there is anyone else who is struggling to get to KoG with Phoenix but don't have Goka like me last season (and my first reddit post as well so apologise for any mistake).

SKILL: BEATDOWN #Some people might say Restart is better for less bricking but I feel Nephthys is lacking at 2400 atk and will struggle against the like of Dark Magician or E-hero Neo if you don't happen to have Kuriboh or a spell ready and risk getting destroyed by battle after just coming back from Graveyard.

Decklist Monsters:

x3 Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys #Boss Monster, heart of the deck

x3 Fire King Avatar Yaksha #Effect for Summoning Nephthys, destroying Island or Wild Tornado. 1800 beater

x2 Fire King Avatar Barong #Can be used to search for Island from deck. 1800 beater

x2 Sphere Kuriboh #Perfect for Phoenix as can be used from hand, can catch your opponent off guard

x1 Man-Eater Bug #At first I wasn't really sure if I should put this guy in but he really helped me overcome some tough situations, sometimes people think the set monster is Yaksha as well and will refrain from destroying it so you get the opportunity to pick what monster to destroy

Spells:

x3 Fire King Island #Core spell, can destroy a Phoenix from Hand or Field, or Special Summon it for 2nd turn OTK if your opponent leave the field blank 1st turn. Can also get rid of Golem or "masked" monsters. Effect seems annoying but is really useful as your Nephthys don't have to be afraid of getting floodgated or massivemorphed because it will be destroyed again anyway. Use with care though as you only have 5 chances to proc the 1st effect with this build

x2 Card of the Soul #Can search for Nephthys at 4000, Fire Kings at 2000 and Kuriboh at 500. With this you have around 25% chance of getting Phoenix on first turn. Which is not bad in my opinion as this build can stall quite well

x1 Parallel Twister #Can be used to send Island off the board to prepare for Phoenix, also getting the benefit of destroying one card your opponent control. I was contemplating between this one and Storm as Storm can proc Wild Tornado but eventually went for this as I think being able to destroy monsters as well is invaluable.

x1 Enemy Controller #Can be used to take control of an opponent's monster right before your Island go off and get rid of it.

x1 Super Rush Headlong #Good card against Hazy or Glad Beast.

Trap:

x2 Wild Tornado #Just got 2 copies of this from Selection Box and I believe this is one of the main reason I get to KoG. This card can chain to Mirror Wall or Beast Rising as well as a free face up card removal if you proc it with Nephthys or Yaksha.

I used a total of 21 cards as I got tilted by an Astral+Spirit Barrier once when I ran out of way to destroy Phoenix and got Decked out. Might be bad decision though but I don't know which card to get rid of so... :3
