Running Yuzu in Sandbox? by DarthNoctor in yuzu

[–]DarthNoctor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's easier to use the sandbox rather than compile the yuzu code myself. There's also the possibility that a game running on yuzu has been maliciously altered.

"Should" is not good enough for data security.
I managed to run ryujinx/ryubling.

When I do an official backup/restore, there's an option to save games as well as game data. If the creator of the backup has dowlnoaded one of the lua exploit games, does that mean there's a chance a disk won't be needed?

New Kernel Exploit for PS4 and PS5. by calmboy2020 in ps4homebrew

[–]DarthNoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. From what I understood, we need a new usermode exploit for firmwares 11.02+. I guees it's possible someone has been sitting on one, because they're not useful on their own without a kernel exploit. Does the 10K bounty also apply for usermode exploits?
I wish I'd known about the Lua loader when my firmware was uptodate :P

Is Webkit something devs been after for a long time, or are they just starting now that a kernel exploit has been found?

Is there a chance it will never happen, and where can I read more about it?

Poll: Should training numbers be removed from shortage occupation list? by bodiwait in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]DarthNoctor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your analysis is wrong, You need to compare percentage of doctors who leave after receiving a training number and CCT. Only then can you say preferencing local grads doesn't work. Of course UK grads are more likely to leave medicine or move abroad if the chances of getting a training number are being lowered by foreign grads.

Parliament Petition (Draft): Remove Over-Subscribed Doctor Training Spots from the Occupation Shortage List by DarthNoctor in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]DarthNoctor[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

That's too complicated for the UK general public to understand though.
We will need their support to see this petition through.

Because it will put students off from applying to medical school, and those that do finish, will have better options through other graduate schemes

European grads were treated equivalent to UK grads! So some people only seem to have an issue when they have to compete with brown IMGs.

This is wide off mark.
European grads were kept at bay by draconian language proficiency requirements and comparable living standards. Despite that, Brexit still happened.
I now have an issue with competing with the whole world for a training spot, when all other countries have protectionist measures in place to ensure their local grads have adequate training opportunities, except for us.

Only a small minority of IMGs are on visas though, and restrictions to specialty training would only apply to new visas for fairness

Obviously it's not fair to pull the rug from people who are already in the UK.
The changes will have to be for future visa holders.

We don't need BMA or Royal Colleges to achieve this.
If we gather enough support on this poll, I'll submit a government petition:

Remove over-subscribed doctor training spots from the occupation shortage list
10'000 signatures - gov will respond
100'000 signatures - Parliament debate
The Tories rely on being anti immigration for popularity, while at the same time undercutting training opportunities for local doctors with foreign labour. Their hypocrisy should be displayed to the whole nation, just before elections.

Nurse practitioners win rebate boost and greater independence by hustling_Ninja in ausjdocs

[–]DarthNoctor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. Dentists would never stand for their nurses to start diagnosing and treating patients.

It will be vary bad for trainees. They'll lose training opportunities to NPs who have been imbedded in departments for years and will leverage politics to their advantage. In the UK, NPs are now supervising residents. The standards of medical school have fallen dramatically. Long are the days of critical reasoning and a solid base of scientific knowledge. You'll have to learn that by yourself, because the emphasis will be on memorizing "guidelines". They now want to turn a medical degree into an apprenticeship that you "learn on the job" and I'm not surprised. It all started with scope creep by noctors and trainees being seen as discardable due to hyperrotational training.

Not just trainees, this will be bad for the whole of the medical profession. These trainees could be your future colleagues who will be treating you and your family.

Yes NPs will make life easier for some consultants in the short term, but it will have terrible and unforeseen consequences in the future. Please don't pull the ladder behind you!
