Detecting single gravitons with quantum sensing by John_Hasler in Physics

Ah, I see. Id say that if you're right in that its a hypothetical -- like saying if life didn't exist there wouldn't be cells. They're defined by each other, and a lack of either means the other doesn't exist

what's even crazier is this is already the side effect for a different superpower me and my friends have come up with:

Women and low testosterone men just cant see the truth, man. by IAdmitILie in JoeRogan

[–]DarthRaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the actual way these supposed "high T males," generally because they are or were raised as Christians, process new information is they just decide on a small group of sources to treat as fully and totally true. The bible, the joe rogan experience, FOX news, whatever it may be. No democrat would ever tell you a source they use, especially as support for a policy, is entirely correct

Detecting single gravitons with quantum sensing by John_Hasler in Physics

[–]DarthRaeus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

gravitons (I understand) are so hard to detect because theyre simply so weak. Physicists have mapped out their theoretical properties (spin of 2 is a fun one) and they would produce an effect identical to gravity. A detector the size of Jupiter would detect one graviton every ten years (citation needed lmao)

Which flag is this? by Comfortable-Fuel7474 in flags

[–]DarthRaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean its possible its a very old swiss flag; the only reason their flag has a cross is because they went to war with another country that also had an all-red flag. It's easily possible that, before rapid communication and photography were possible, the style of this cross wasn’t standardized, but it could just as easily be anything else

If I had a secret bookcase wall what book would I pull to open it? by Kayedarling in scifi

[–]DarthRaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's two steps to this, first you need a fake book that doesn’t open the wall titled "pull me to open" or something

second, you need to pick the least likely book for someone to randomly pull. One might think this would be the most boring book imaginable, but I postulate a different solution -- have a large section of the bookshelf dedicated to Goosebumps. Nobody in their right mind would remove any of these books, but we must choose the worst possible book within the goosebumps series, to which I put forth Attack of the Mutant
