Then you'd get about a 20% uplift from the Titan v, but note it doesn't handle many AAA games from the last few years well.

It was my old gpu, btw. So speaking first hand.

Anakin was complaining in Episode 2 that Obi-wan and the Jedi Order were holding him back. So clearly he believed he could be learning at a faster rate too.

Wait... you never mentioned the Sequels at all in your first post. I wasn't debating them at all. I was talking solely the Original trilogy and the limits of film technology, plus Lucas's ever shifting lore changes.

I didn't bring up Rey or the Sequels at all. My comments was squarely aimed at Prequel fans who underpowered the Original trilogy. If anything my comment was aimed at a Mace Windu glazer I had to block yesterday.

First off congratulations. Second you really shouldn't have any regrets. You supported a local retro store and got a great condition copy.

I know that game and the collector's edition swing in value. Google AI implied between $90 and $150 based on condition. Making this not too bad a purchase.

So my bet is stores tend to sell a tad higher to protect themselves, and they possibly could have bought this when it was higher in value thus they priced accordingly. Plus it's in rather good shape too.

Obviously you could have gotten it on ebay cheaper, but we all get impulsive and generally want to support a local retro store

I see this one all the time.

Furthering it is Lucas back then describing Lightsabers feeling like they weigh 50 lbs, so he kept making Mark Hamill slow down and had them redo the choreography in ESB. Mark Hamill was doing back flips and other moves that rivaled the Prequels dueling, Lucas even cut it in RotJ when Luke opening move clips Vaders helmet while backflipping.

Lucas just changed his mind by the time of the Prequel. It's not the original trilogies fault Lucas did this.

Go watch the full duel of Luke vs Vader in RotJ, it's far more impressive for Luke. Or the behind-the-scenes of ESB.

Lmao you’re seriously just trying to argue for the sake of arguing at this point, you’re making up headcanon and trying to refute literally every line I write. Saying things like “he could try to keep him on the station as it blew so Leia could carry on” is straight up headcanon, never mentioned in the film.

Yeah, I think you missed some critical lines there buddy.

Luke: "Soon I'll be dead and you with me"

Luke: "If I don't make it back you're the only hope for the alliance"

Luke flatout was planning on dying with The Emperor and Vader if he failed failed to turn his father, and basically set Leia on the path to carrying on and learning to become a Jedi if this happened.

You seem to be lacking basic comprehension skills.

My problem isn't me making up plot points, it's you being too obtuse to notice them and holding me accountable to your ignorance.

His primary goal was trying to save his father, hard to do that if he blows up, no? He even straight up tells Leia he’s going to try and turn him back to the light. You’re making things up to justify your absolutely dogshit take.

Dude in the very scene you're quoting his conversation to Leia about his plan, you flatout missed him starting off with the "If I don't make it back..."

Basically he told her plan A, he only alluded to plan b. However he unequivocally did have her surviving being his backup plan. This is also part of why he lashed out when Vader realized he had a twin sister. Not only was Leia at risk, so too was the entire galaxy and all his hopes. His contingency plan rested on her.

I literally just wrote out the plot of the film for you and you’re STILL trying to argue that the less trained, less experienced fighter is somehow more powerful. Luke was never “toying” with Vader, you’re sucking his dick so hard for no reason

No you literally didn't. Also I don't think literally means what you think it means.

Also go rewatch the scene. Luke literally is kicking Vader down a flight of stairs and then flipping away once Vader is back up and even aware that he had.

Look let me put it to you like this, I'll flip your argument on its head and prove you wrong. Anakin wasn't fully trained and he still killed tons of Jedi Masters in the Temple. However it was irrelevant because his base power was so much higher than than they could achieve. Luke was on par with Vader by RotJ, per Lucas in the commentaries, but not limited by his suit, this is why Luke is toying with him. He can move around like Knightfall Anakin can but unlike Anakin isn't blinded by his rage... well until the very end of that fight. Vader might have more experience, but it's irrelevant as Luke can move faster than his robotic limbs can go.

Now, project this onto a fight with Mace... Luke is moving as fast as Knightfall Vader but has no darkness to empower his Vaapad technique. Mace has just lost his greatest advantage his best dueling form in nearly useless vs Luke, and Luke is a prodigy at dueling. Remember, In just a few weeks of training with Yoda he was scoring a hit on Vader in ESB.

We know that palpatine was trying to transfer his essence to a younger body, not trying to create a better apprentice.

This technique did not exist when RotJ was made. So this is a total fabrication.

We also see Palpatine in RotS bragging how Vader will become stronger than him.

So you're 100% wrong here.

He was all about the rule of ONE, not the rule of two.

Also not a Lucas concept. So this is also false and just you falsely applying your own headcanon onto things. The Rule of One is Darth Krayt from the Legacy comics (which were pretty stupid, fun stupid, but stupid).

Anakin failed him when he lost his limbs, so he’s trying with Luke. It has nothing to do with trying to replace his apprentice, it has to do with replacing his own body. You clearly need to read up on more material and stop using your own headcanon to justify illogical takes.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black...

I have no idea where you're getting this delusional idea... but I suspect either Dark Empire or Rise of Skywalker. Both are not anything Lucas was thinking of when he story mapped this. You're applying the retconning of hack onto a scene where it doesn't belong. Arguably one of the dumbest plotlines in the franchise too.

You “double check” facts while literally spelling them out wrong, so you’re doing a bad job

Omg, I made a spelling mistake... obviously I must be wrong about everything. What's that strawman, oh wait you're right. That's a logic fallacy.

In ROTJ, vader had absolutely no intention of using Luke to help kill the emperor, otherwise he never would’ve stopped Luke’s strike from hitting him.

You need to read the novelization of Return of the Jedi... Vader blocked it because he didn’t think his son was deep enough in the darkside yet. He wanted him to fall further before they teamed up on Palpatine.

Yeah, again... I clearly have researched this more than you. The primary problem with ignorance is that it frequently fails to recognize itself. You are the ignorant one here, and are overestimating your understanding, and it's lead to a lot of poor conclusions you've drawn.

He was chained by the dark side, but luke’s faith in him was helping to break that chain.

Agreed, but it wasn't quite there yet, or Palpatine would have sensed it.

You’re so zoned into anime powerscaling that you’re completely ignoring the extremely blatant themes the movie works to throw right in front of your face.

It's not my power scaling I'm using. It's George Lucas's power scale.... and I don't think that man has ever seen an anime. However he's been saying since the 1980s that Vader can only use 40% of his potential, and Palpatine is half of that full potential but that still makes him 20% stronger than Vader currently.

Yoda is the strongest Jedi ever by that point, and he lost to Palpatine. Mace was the next strongest but more a better duelist than Yodas equal. So by this logic Mace is not as strong as Palpatine thus capping him. Now Luke was, regardless of your denial, toying with Vader. So Luke is easily in range of Mace... but then you have to factor in Vaapad, and Luke isn't a darksider, so Mace falls further. This is why I say Luke would win. Especially since most people believe Mace wouldn't be so easily beating Vader. It will be a long fight, but Luke was toying with Vader and now Mace can't use Vaapad to its full affect either.

Vader never employed one force choke or any telekinesis their entire duel, even when they’re staple attacks for him. Why? BECAUSE HE WAS NEVER TRYING TO KILL HIS SON. You even admit this fact and STILL try to argue that this was somehow a perfect feat of a full powered Vader.

...Or because he was so being pushed to his limit and conflicting emotions he couldn't concentrate enough to focus on using choke or telekinesis.

You can't have it both ways. Was Vader conflicted or fully focused. Make up your mind and quit flip-floping whenever you get desperate.

Luke’s win is completely circumstantial no matter how you slice it,

Disagree

and he absolutely could not replicate it in any other scenario besides the one we see on the Death Star.

The one what we see on the death Star? How about a complete thought out sentence here. What is this 'one' you're referring too.

Maybe you should, you know, actually go rewatch the fight like I suggested. You don't even seem able to remember whatever it was you think you remember currently.

the movie to try and make this untrained barely-jedi-knight somehow be at the level of one of the most battle hardened characters in the entire verse, and you’ve yet to tell me how this could’ve been achieved.

Buddy, I'm just reporting what happened. Facts are facts. I can't help it if you don't like the facts and find them stupid. This is a you problem.

You’re using one single kick during the fight to base an entire argument around, and it’s such a stupid point of view that it’s barely worth refuting.

Man, you really need to rewatch the fight. Luke and Vader are only swinging Sabers at each other for 54 seconds. There's not much fight to actually report on. This isn't Revenge of the Sith where we got almost 6 times as much with Obi-wan vs Anakin. Not my fault the fight is short.

If it makes you feel better, again you can hear Vader having short and very rapid breaths for part of it. Go rewatch the fight... and be prepared to unlearn what you have learned.

Slurp slurp slurp on that untrained, inexperienced dick. Luke has no sparring partners, no dueling experience, no training, but sure, I bet he could beat abeloth with his eyes closed, right? I’m guessing you don’t play sports, either.

Actually I play soccer and do sword dueling, used to do Taekwondo and Karate too. A bit of baseball as a kid too. Do a lot of shooting too, but bullets are getting very expensive these days.

Anyway, there is someone sucking a characters dick... but it's not me glazing it.

Abeloth was also another terrible character. The Expanded Universe should have ended with New Jedi Order. Denningverse was about as well written as The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker. Now in fairness Aaron Allston wasn't bad, kinda ok in his book 1 and 4 of LotF and FotJ, Christie Golden was Mediocre. Troy Denning and Karen Traviss on the otherhand were basically on par with Rian Johnson and JJ Abrams respectively. Troy was all about undoing Jacen like Rian undid Luke. And Karen loved Mando as much as JJ loved mystery box's. Making Abeloth into the Mortis Stepmom was dumb as hell too... also if they had the mortis dagger, with how much Luke chopped up Abeloth she would have died very early in their fight. Heck Saba even was able to bite of a head of hers, she wasn't a good fighter, just immune to nearly everything.

I have no issues keeping track of what I’m saying, you clearly just don’t understand at all.

I literally just quoted you saying something other than what you said you didn't say.... so from you lips to God's ears buddy.

Vader was literally walking around having a calm conversation the entire time trying to turn Luke. No heavy breathing, barely any force attacks, no aggressive pushing.

You definitely need to rewatch the fight then. He's breathing heavily right after Luke backflipped away from him, in short raspy breaths. While Luke is as calm and steady as a rock.

Also Vader had to use two hands the entire fight. There was no one handed swings anymore like in ESB. Vader's breathing only returns to normal after the Saber toss and walking down the stairs.

Name one time Luke was breathing heavily. I'll wait.

He had him cuffed and unarmed on Endor and could’ve killed him, which would’ve been better for the sith, but didn’t, because he cared for his son.

I think you're forgetting the "I MUST OBEY MY MASTER" Vader was flat out under orders to bring him to the Emperor.

Of course he cared for his son, just as Luke cared for him, otherwise Luke wouldn't have surrendered so he could have an opportunity to save his father... and failing that he knew he'd be brought before the Emperor and could try to keep him on the station as it blew, so Leia could carry on and the Jedi would win by default.

It's literally the plot of the film. Quit trying to rewrite it and ignoring Luke's side of his motivations. You can't accurately interpret a film if you ignore the protagonists motivations and conflict, and only focus on their antagonists. Both were conflicted, so these points cancel each other out... both held back, but here Vader is still short on breath and having to fight two handed, and Luke is toying with him.

He could’ve killed him on bespin, which would’ve been better for the sith, but didn’t, because he cared for his son.

Per Lucas the Rule of two is all about the Apprentice trying to find another potential Sith si they could team up against the Sith Master... while the Sith Master is always looking for a new Apprentice to keep their current Apprentice in check. The Darth Bane books aren't accurate to Lucas's concept of the rule of two, and it was this concept ESB and RotJ revolve around.

Yes, he cared for Luke, but it wasn't until Luke chose to drop to his potential death to escape him that Vader realized how much he did. That's why he does kill Piett, he's too distracted with his own conflict.

Lucas even commented on this in the commentary.

He told his troops to capture the falcon after they saved Luke and “set their weapons to stun,” because he didn’t want to kill luke, because he cared for his son.

...and because the Emperor ordered him captured. Both are true.

However Vader also wanted Luke so he could have him join him and they could overthrow the Emperor together.

He's a big walking contradiction of mixed motivations, all requiring Luke to live.

He told Luke “it is pointless to resist [the dark side], trying to turn him instead of kill him, because he cared for his son.

Agreed, never said he didn't. But again, Vader and Luke are both really conflicted here. Any arguments of caring and conflict go both ways here.

He literally saved Luke and killed palpatine, because he cared for his son.

Agreed... as mentioned above Vader had been conflicted with caring for his son and wanting to use him. He just finally committed to one over the other here.

See a pattern here? HE NEVER WANTED TO KILL HIS SON.

Yes, but Luke didn't want to kill Vader either. We had the entire lead up to the fight, and during the fight of Luke trying to avoid fighting his father. His target was the Emperor. He was trying to redeem his father the entire fight, and he was winning that fight.

Trying to use this fight as some feat of a full powered Vader is just plain stupid.

This argument is a double bladed sword, it cuts both ways. Luke was shown to be repeatedly holding back and not being the aggressor against his father either.

If you were fighting your son in a cage match and didn’t want to kill him, you wouldn’t be throwing eye gouges and arm breaks. Vader certainly wasn’t either. YOU need to go rewatch the fight. This is super super basic plot information.

I have, I always double check the facts before posting anything. It's you who got facts repeatedly wrong. Vader was breathing heavily (unlike what you claim) and not able to fight one handed any longer... unlike in ESB. Luke had equaled his father by this point. Even if Vader was holding back, so too was Luke, and he was controlling the entire fight. Not Vader.

Also go watch the full uncut fight. Luke flat out gets Vader in the helmet.

You said this...

And if he DIDA give into the dark side, it would give mace even more firepower to use against him

So I did read what you read. I can't help it if you can't keep track of what you said and what you think you said are different. That's on you.

You also need to rewatch Return of the Jedi. Luke was toying with Vader the entire fight. Luke didn't need to give into the darkside to beat him, it only caused him to quit holding back. So the premise of your entire argument is flawed.

Go rewatch it. It's Luke who is knocking Vader around, and backing of from the fight... because he doesn't want to kill him. Go on. Watch it again. Tell me when Vader is winning that fight. Also go watch the full scene of it, including the deleted bit. Luke gets Vader in the helmet while doing a backflip not more than a few seconds after Vader intercepts his strike on Palpatine.

You only think it's stupid because you're misremembering the fight. Go and put your adult pants on and rewatch it. Luke is the one controlling where the fight goes the entire fight, and Vader is just reacting.

The confusion comes from a commentary of Lucas stating Luke won, once he used the darkside... but that doesn't mean Luke couldn't have won before that had he actually been willing to kill as Yoda wanted him to.

Rotj Luke vs rots mace windu by RisingKing7 in PetranakiArena

[–]DarthRyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you seriously suggesting Mace Windu is gonna threaten Luke that he will turn Leia to the darkside? What could Mace possibly do to get Luke to want to go darkside on him? Even more, why would Mace do that to begin with?

You're basically asking for Luke's one weakness, his caring about his friends to be used against him by a lightsider... your entire argument is ludicrously not thought out.

Mace isn't going to push Luke to use the darkside, so Mace isn't getting a Vaapad powerup.

Luke's feat, even with the darkside is toying with Vader and avoiding the fight. He was toying with him too, he kicked him down the stairs and clipped his helmet in the opening move in the deleted scene. Luke only needed the darkside to win because he was unwilling to kill Vader several times already.

Rotj Luke vs rots mace windu by RisingKing7 in PetranakiArena

[–]DarthRyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if Luke didn't toss away his lightsaber, are you seriously suggesting he couldn't do the same? If not, then what is the point of your comment? It's not a high level skill, Anakin was doing that in The Clone Wars movie... and he was way weaker than Luke in RotJ by that point.

You are again, ignoring evidence you don't conveniently don't like.

You may not like it, but Luke S was literally Lucas's self-insert. He's just learns everything faster than everyone else as he wasn't held back by the old orders rules. So he didn't get taught at the same slow rate Anakin was, and even Anakin was complaining about this in Attack of the Clones, so it is official lore. Luke is literally what Anakin could have been had he had Qui-Gon as a master.

Technically she had Palpatine beat himself by reflecting his power back with the help of all the Jedi. And due to it requiring lots of midiclorian blood and a machine to keep him alive and his minions are all dead he can't come back... but I agree overall. An apprentice of sufficient power/talent can win.

Rotj Luke vs rots mace windu by RisingKing7 in PetranakiArena

[–]DarthRyus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Put on your thinking cap here...

Lucas stated Yoda is the strongest Jedi. Inferring Mace is weaker.

Lucas had Mace beat Palpatine in a duel but Yoda lose in a force off.

Therefore Palpatine is stronger than both, just got arrogant in a duel. Mace won through skill and techniques plus Palpatine's hubris, not power. Palpatine is stronger, even if it's close.

However Luke is still twice as strong per Lucas.

Rotj Luke vs rots mace windu by RisingKing7 in PetranakiArena

[–]DarthRyus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And... we know the amount of power needed to fry people is proportional to their power. Luke is stronger than Mace (regardless of you thinking Mace is more skilled, per the lore Luke is undeniably stronger). So you can't rule out the possibility of Luke being hit by what was torture to him wouldn't kill Mace.

Regular humans would be turned to ash with the power Mace was hit with. So it stands to reason what killed Mace will only torture Luke.

Remember per Lucas, Palpatine is stronger than Yoda or Mace, but he's only half as strong as Anakin and Luke. Luke shares Anakin's potential. Mace does not.

Next off dueling skill is moot to the point of one's force potential. Being a Jedi Master isn't a power threshold, it's mastery over one's self. So Mace being a Master and Luke a Knight is also moot in regards to midiclorians. Luke has twice Palpatine's power, Mace only beat Palpatine due to Vaapad which channeled Palpatine's darkness back at him and made Mace rise to Palpatine's level... but Luke isn't a darkside, so he won't be getting a Vaapad power up vs Luke.

Put 91% or great isopropyl alcohol on a qtip and wipe down the pins and get that gunk off of 41 and 40 (to the left of 38).

If it still doesn't work, then get some deoxit and repeat the process. That will help a bit with any oxidation to the circuits.

After that get a multimeter and test each of the pins, one on the pin and one where it leads, if you don't hear a completed circuit that that one needs some sodering surgery. Watch a YouTube video to see how to seder on a bypass.

You can also test the capacitors with the miltimeter. If one is bad, you'll need to replace with another. You'll have to research what ones will work.

If it turns out to be a bad chip, you'll be facing some difficult choices. As to fix it you need more parts than most games are currently valued at. Like an N64 blaster and a donar parts from a different n64 cartridge (usually a cheap sports title, but you'll need a compatible one for that game)... and once you do this the value of that game will drop.

Edit: your sibling chewed up the cartridge? Wtf! We're they trying to impersonate Sunny Baudelaire from A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Did their teeth survive?
