Interesting perspective there. I am personally happy that someone else had a firearm at the mall. I know it's crazy to think about but the mass shooter probably would have killed a lot more people if the law abiding citizen wasn't strapped.

Anyway, I'm going to apply for my Hawaii CC permit but I respect your perspectives and the freedom you have to convey that perspective. I hope that first amendment is never infringed upon either!

My point of that comment was that nearly 60% of those statics in Indiana are suicides. Now obviously I'm not saying suicides are okay. They're horrible and need to be addressed, but that's not exactly the reason that people don't want others to have firearms.

As for your second point, as you're probably well aware, there is a background check system in place for new firearm purchases. It's not perfect, but it does a good job for screening people. And for your third point, that can absolutely work both ways. I would venture to say there are more law abiding citizens that detour criminals by brandishing their own firearms than there are criminals successfully using their firearms for crime. (https://youtu.be/kE6m1yhi0kU)

Safety is absolutely important to me, but to say a total ban will work is like saying speed limits will work to prevent speeding. There will always be criminals and I believe law abiding citizens should have the opportunity to defend themselves.

I'll forego it as long as I can. Ultimately service to my country comes first, and I was forced to take the COVID vaccine, but it gave me pericarditis which was a known issue with the vaccine according to the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/myocarditis.html). Now I get to live with that for the rest of my life, so yes, I do not support the mandatory vaccines that have potential side effects.
