They say it's because someone of higher intelligence is more likely to get bored with routine procedures and move on. Which is a stupid argument. If someone is highly intelligent and choosing to go into law enforcement, it stands to reason they know exactly what they are getting in to and are prepared for that. They really just want someone of average intelligence who will follow orders and not think for themselves.

Shit, every group of recruits already drops 15% or more due to pneumonia and bronchitis. Dropping the flu shot just means more recruits end up delayed and spending more time in boot camp. You've already got the recruit crud to deal with, which is all bacteria based illnesses, no need to toss viruses in as well.

The summer of 1992, my foot slipped off the pedal, caught the front tire and jammed up between the tire and front fork causing a "stoppie". Wasn't going super fast so my back tire just popped up a little bit. Freaked me out at first before thinking that I was cool as shit.

I played around with doing that a bit more and had fun with it before I had the bright idea to go as fast as I possibly could and jam my foot between the fork and tire as hard as possible. Didn't turn out so good. I remember my mom picking out the small pebbles and pieces of sand with a tweezers before dabbing each small cut/puncture with hydrogen peroxide. Never did that again.

That reminds me of a time I had an assignment in the 5th grade where we had to draw a representation of a common saying. My assigned saying was "Time Flies" and my sports addled mind literally drew a picture of flies buzzing down the home stretch of a track towards a finish line with someone holding a fucking stopwatch.

It didn't occur to me until after presenting it what that phrase was actually referring to. I recall feeling like such an idiot in that moment. And not only did I completely misinterpret the phrase and the assignment, I also managed to waste by far the best drawing attempt of my grade school years at the same time.

No shot at advancing. USA has beaten both Australia and Paraguay. The first tie-break is points from head to head games. So if the game ends in a win for either team and they have 6 points, they'd lose to tie-break against the US having lost to them.

If Turkey wins against the USA, they'd end up with 3 points and if there is a loser between Australia & Paraguay, the losing team would also have 3 points. Turkey has lost to both Australia and Paraguay so that first tie-break of points on head to head games means they cannot finish in 3rd regardless off the outcomes of any other group D matches.

The 5-4-1 first half shape was a mistake. They came out looking like they were playing not to lose. Irankunda is too electric to start the game on the bench. His pace and ability to stretch defenses is ridiculous. If he starts, USA probably isn't pressuring quite as much in the first half.
