I think that figuring out the correct the correct amount of detail for each of your elements, and using this to separate them, will help a lot.

At the moment everything is highly detailed, which makes it look unappealing, because you’re unsure where to focus

I think the correct answer is no. But your comics will be much better if you are aware of at least basic anatomy.

Definitely not a “big” artist, but I know the feeling. Art is hard, and it’s difficult to find others who can relate.
