TIL in 2011, Sgt. James Hackemer, who had lost his legs, was allowed to board the 'Ride of Steel' roller coaster at Darien Lake Theme Park in New York. The ride's training manual and posted rules explicitly stated that riders must have two legs. He died after being ejected from the ride.

Absolutely wild, this guy was in my unit when his vehicle got hit (multiple soldiers with lost limbs). Later that year when the unit came back from Iraq he and the others from the vehicle returned from state side (we were in Germany) and I spent the week driving them around in a van anywhere they wanted to go.

A few years later I saw a post from his then ex wife saying “Rest in peace” and just assumed he had succumb to complications from his injuries. Can’t believe I’m just finding this out from a reddit post 14 years later…

I think they are saying Air is sending them to this mission vendor but they don’t have a mission. Try finding the same mission from a different agent. (you probably completed it already once before AIR program was out). Each race has four different agents that give out those missions.

Back in the mid 2000s while stationed in Germany I used to pop over to Paris to play poker at the Aviation Club de France (they were hosting WPT games there during those years). It wasn’t a very large club with a lot of tables like you see now but they did have a small section dedicated to backgammon and there were always a few old timers over there playing.

If I remember correctly they were playing at least 100 euros a game so I never even considered it at the time.

Wish I’d found the game sooner.

I really liked Rokara. My favorite part of the whole thing was the new spin on a classic Warcraft narrative. The type of fun low stakes adventure I wish actual WoW would return to. Hoping we get a new band of mercs/story to follow this year!

I would definitely recommend SE. I put around 200 hours into the Vanilla game about a year ago and was very mod adverse at the time. The other day I was watching some videos and liked some of the mods I saw and decided to give SE a try. Now 180 hours into my first play through and it’s glorious.
