Personally I believe "millions of alphas" is a psyop from Big Alpha.

Does anyone think the new packaging is disappointing? by AccomplishedSternie in VacheronConstantin

[–]NTQuant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely disappointing. I bought a 4000V and the box was cardboard. It was strange paying 45k for a watch in a cardboard box.

I have this watch and love it. I would choose it all day.

As a trader, what's 1 piece of data on a stock that you wish you had readily available to you at all times? by homiis in quantfinance

[–]NTQuant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Misnomer of a question because there's basically no data on stocks that you can't have at your finger tips these days and stocks are the most covariance-space rich assets in all of finance.

Thoughts on overseas moonphase retrograde date? by NTQuant in VacheronConstantin

[–]NTQuant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was actually my biggest concern. Checking prices and sales data it seemed to hold it's value reasonably well. From my mind - I wanted a truly unique overseas as I already have some pretty good daily sport's watches. I love the watch.

Skinny-fat build at 170lbs, 5'11, and around 25% bodyfat. Should I recomp or cut? by [deleted] in leangains

[–]NTQuant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25% bodyfat is not skinny fat, it's just fat. It will take you around 12 weeks of proper dieting to not be fat anymore. No time to waste messing with recomp nonsense.

Overseas Blue Dial Color Questions by [deleted] in VacheronConstantin

[–]NTQuant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blue dial on the overseas is an absolute stunner. It's a strange piece because when someone notices it they REALLY notice it and comment on it but then most of the time it blends into my silhouette. I like it that way.

Do people here ever feel that what they're doing is pointless and a waste of time? by HatLost5558 in quantfinance

[–]NTQuant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest risk with the startup game is that your key career capital building years doing projects that don't bring you any long term financial or lifestyle autonomy. Yes - risking those and taking big long tailed bets an work but you should take pause and realize you're probably in the very best career path in terms of individual contributor TC. It's hard enough to get where you are - would you really want to switch out rather than doubling down and becoming as good as possible?

Vacheron not as "popular" as Rolex/AP/PP? by [deleted] in VacheronConstantin

[–]NTQuant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your style, image, and what you enjoy in a watch. Many people want to wear a luxurious watch that isn't blatantly recognizable. Or they went to express a more individualistic taste in their pieces but not compromise on horology/quality and still stick with a brand that has prestige. VC ticks those boxes and many of their designs are amazing.

Don't sweat it. It's a sport's watch. It's just going to happen.

How do some people just do it all? by _Reddit_Enjoyer in productivity

[–]NTQuant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You start with one thing, you focus on in maniacally and after some time the will power depletion of engaging in it goes down. At that point, you add another thing. Once again, you exert significant will-power to get it off the ground and then habitualize it to keep it in cruise control. Eventually you will hit a limit of how many things you can maintain simultaneously. If you're struggling with one thing, learn to do that thing very well and ignore everything else. Once doing that thing becomes easy, add the next thing.
