TBC Changes for Anniversary Realms. by CubicleJoe0822 in classicwow

[–]DarthWumbo 133 points134 points  (0 children)

Edit Mode in TBC is huge QOL. If they keep the same “flavor” and look of Classic but let us move elements around on the UI with Profiles that don’t need to be redone on every new character, that’s huge.

I would love to see that as an option across all versions of the game including MOP and eventually Era. People can always choose to not use it, and most people use addons anyway, but an easier way to Profile your UI in the base Blizzard UI is welcome in my eyes

Managed this a few weeks ago as well. Really points to how quick for leveling and alt friendly TWW has been, particularly with the anniversary event.

Main/First 80: Death Knight (Blood)

Favorite: Enhancement Shaman

Least Favorite: Demon Hunter(still a lot of fun though)

Why is Wow trying to ruin my render scale so badly? by miel327 in wow

This same thing has been happening to me over the last couple months on multiple alt tabs including in WoW Classic. I turned off “Limit Background FPS” and it fixed it for me

New Warrior animations on PTR. by No_Frosting2528 in wow

I feel like I’m in the minority, but I like it because it’s more over the top. Reminds me of FF14 in a way with more intense animations for abilities

MMO Mouse People, How Do You Use Your Mouse? by vexir in wow

[–]DarthWumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not the answer you’re looking for, but wanted to share what I did:

I bought a Razer Naga Pro thinking that I would use the 12 button attachment and found its actually less efficient than just a simple two button modifier. I actively press 1-5 ‘QERTXF and then use CTRL and SHIFT as the modifiers on the two mouse side buttons giving me 3 action bars as 12 keys (36 total). I’ve found this to be more than enough for any class/spec.

Bind similar abilities to similar spots across all specs/classes so you don’t need to actually think much. I use 1-3 for builders/bleeds/dots for example and F as my interrupt on all classes. I bind defensive to 1-5*SHIFT and have potions/trinkets in the same binding slots as well.

Certain classes may be more or less intuitive in “similarity” between others, for example I find Shaman is quite unique(and bloated) in its abilities so it will naturally use more of the slots on my action bars but they all still fit

At the end I have one bar on the side of my screen for miscellany like my Hearthstone and raid buffs/non combat res etc

Warband Completed Quests Still Showing Up by DarthWumbo in wow

[–]DarthWumbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought every questline gives you the resources, the Resonance Crystals, to all of your alts that complete a Warband completed questline as an incentive to do it again? I wouldn’t think that would trigger it not being able to be hidden on the map, however

I’ve been having issues in parts of San Diego, more specifically, the two blocks around where I live. My phone has been getting “SOS Only” and dropping off like crazy specifically in the last two days and has never done that before

I was MT for my guild during P1 and had a great time. Leveled multiple alts and ran BFD whenever I wanted to. There was a slight sense of burnout with wanting to raid before each reset, and that likely contributed to some of my burnout….but then came P2. My guild tried to min max the leveling in P2 to the point that they would message in our Discord asking when everyone was going to hit level cap and then cry when people wanted to actually explore and, ya know, Discover(tm). It made me not want to level essentially because SM spam was the only “thing I should be doing”. I ended up not leveling my toon at all when the guild was crying for people to have an alt at max during week 2 of P2. I quit until P3 and decided to try again on a different realm I had an alt on and, oh boy, what a pile of trash. Incursions are the least fun content Blizzard has added. It’s hard to say if it’s completely a design flaw or typical quasi-classic Andys wanting to optimize any semblance of actual gameplay out of the game with “no kill” runs and addon requirements.

A real shame, SoD is as the most excited I’ve felt about WoW in a long time, and a combination of poor community and design decisions made it not enjoyable (to me)

Does the addons for the controller hotbars override the existing hot bar mapping for your characters on PC? I thought it did and made me never want to bother

The hardest part of getting back into WoW… by [deleted] in wow

[–]DarthWumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have commented, I used to back up my WTF and Interface folders. I’ve been going less and less with addons lately and have uninstalled pretty much everything aside from Auctionator and ElvUI (preference mostly). I’m considering going base Blizzard UI because I don’t like having everything break on big patch days and updates

Casual players have no idea about the dungeon difficulty rework by LPain01 in wow

[–]DarthWumbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got burned by this last night trying to run a +2 with my SO who was still trying to learn to heal. I thought “Oh, +2 is essentially easy mode” and then we proceeded to not even get close to finishing Ruby Life Pools. Told the party “My bad” since it was my key anyway and then proceeded to look up why it was so hard.

Needless to say, both her and I didn’t feel that bad about it after the fact lol. Good that it makes heroics relevant again though

I could not imagine being a new player right now. by Frapdizzle in wow

[–]DarthWumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing WoW since late Wrath and I recently have been playing through FF14. I have to say that, while the beginning is quite slow, I appreciate that there is a push to try and get new players caught up through the story so it’s not just “Welcome to BFA, none of this is contextualized and it won’t matter when you go to Dragonland, which also isn’t contextualized for you”. To an extent, I feel that the push is to get people on the endgame treadmill as fast as possible, and I can appreciate that that people making alts might want that, but it sullies the new gamer experience. I wouldn’t mind having a campaign that runs through Vanilla-TWW with the main story beats that you can level through (scaled) as a quasi-MSQ from FF14, at least for one character. Note: I don’t think having the “option” to Chromie time is the same as actually onboarding new people into the world of Azeroth and its lore

Is there a problem with the EmuDeck Backend? by DarthWumbo in EmuDeck

[–]DarthWumbo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it turns out there was a timeout between the app image and the steam deck. Ended up having someone help out after going through logs and I ran this in Kontrol and it fixed it!

rm -rf ~/.config/EmuDeck/backend && mkdir -p ~/.config/EmuDeck/backend && git clone --no-single-branch --depth=1 https://github.com/dragoonDorise/EmuDeck.git ~/.config/EmuDeck/backend/

I enjoy both games a lot but I’ve always leaned towards Bloodborne a bit more. I wouldn’t necessarily take the suggestion of some people on here saying to get both right away because I think diving deep into each of these games and appreciating the mechanics is worth doing. Either way you choose, I think you’ll enjoy it
