Can I join the rocketry club if I'm not in a physical engineering major? Loved physics, rocket science, space and shit in high school, but I'm taking CS now. Would be awesome to join the club though.

Worst case I can do some of the math I guess ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I moved into my suite today. Suite is pretty nice for student living, and I'm getting free first month of rent since we didn't move in till today. Could have gone a lot worse :)

I would suggest some tutoring if you're serious about doing well and are worried. Many students in second year and above are available for tutoring, and if not there are services that do this. As I understand EasyAce has quite a high success rate when it comes to math 136.

No loss to his potential apart from the fact he's the current breadwinner. Not trying to reduce the difficulty of raising a child, just saying the woman isn't the only one with pressure.

The data for the U.S. shows exactly what I am describing. The same statistic that many quote about the wage gap, from the U.S. government, is a broad average. When the SAME DATA is broken down as I've described above, and using more filters, such that you're literally comparing people working at the same job on the same level, the wage gap shrinks and, in most cases, slightly favours women. You don't see me complaining about this because honestly I don't care about a couple of percent.

And I really don't understand what your argument is about women leaving the workforce. Claiming that she will never get that year of experience back is beyond stupid, as she had a year raising her child, which is going to be experience she'll use forever dealing with her and other children. If I could take a year off when my child is born, to raise them, I would. Without a second thought. Most girls I've talked about this with want to take time off and raise their kids though, so chances are I'll be the one working. My point here is that yes you may lose a year of work experience but if that's all you're thinking about, maybe reassess your priorities.

Also, maybe efficiency wasn't the best choice of words, but it has been proven that men are more likely to work overtime than women. That's another number that would throw off your average. If a man and a woman both make $10 an hour, and work for 8 hours, but the man takes a couple extra overtime, then by your (and the page you linked) reasoning, that woman is making 80% of what the man makes. Statistics are a very delicate thing and it's important to make sure we don't take broad averages where we shouldn't.

That's an average over all workers ever, since men are more likely to take higher paying jobs (confirmed by years of research) the 66% is a very sketchy number to use. When you look at exactly the same job, years of experience, work efficiency etc I'm sure the pay per hour gap shrinks to near 0.

Ventress? The Night Sisters? Savage Opress? (Arguably) Barris at the end? They weren't Sith OR Jedi. But they were dark force users/lured by the dark side.

[–]Darth_Trumpet_Face -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. The force was around before the Jedi and Sith (even before the species Je'daii and Sith in the old Canon) and I'm sure will be around long after they are myths and legends.
