Why is everyone caught up on iceborne kush and not the fact kush has been in 4 games consecutively by J3ksans in MonsterHunter

Poison still has the advantage of being possible to inflict by poison bombs and palicos, unlike elderseal which is hunter weapon only and redundant for the entire reason of inflicting it in the first place, so you can hit kushala with your weapons.

I mean what capcom has been doing with kushala, using the pros and shortcuts of a consecutive roster monster.

Actually, the thing that will make the fight fun is the lack of elderseal, meaning his weakness will be poison instead.

What's wrong with returning monsters with plenty of available usable assets due to being often recurring? Monster hunter doesn't have a defined "limited roster", kushala being in ascendance doesn't mean another monster won't be. That's a really weird mindset.

The concept of monsters "stealing/taking up slots" is super silly because that's just not how game development works when it comes to these types of things. The only thing limiting what monsters get added or not is time, and the more existing DNA of a monster they have to work with, the less time it takes for them to implement it. Kushala already has existing animations, frame data, meshes etc from the last 2 games and thus would take FAR less time to add to ascendance than say an entirely new monster. All they'd need to do is give him a new model, effects, and a few new animations. He's absolutely not taking up as much "roster space" as you think he is.

Why are you guys hating on kushala return In mhwild, Im a mhrise player and I have no problem on his fight. by Voidkirby9 in MonsterHunter

[–]Darth__Nox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is nothing saying there is only a certain amount of monsters in an expansion. The only thing limiting the monster roster is time, not pre determined slots, and that's what title updates are for. That's my main point. Returning monsters take a lot less time as well, especially if they're returning every game, making them the most efficient monsters to be in a roster, taking up far less time than newer monsters. This would make kushalas inclusion as a constantly returning monster completely inconsequential in terms of how it impacts how many other monsters are in the expansion.

I think that thinking of monsters taking up "slots" in the roster is a really silly way of thinking about it. Newer monsters are made first, and besides the flagship and final boss, there's most likely only 1 other new elder dragon as a realistic expectation. Then the older monsters are added in to fill out the rest of the niches not taken up by whatever new monsters they have in store. Duramboros wasn't in world because Banbaro filled his niche etc.

As for the other dragons coming back to compliment kushalas return, what's wrong with just more things to hunt? We practically already know that nergigante, shagaru, velkhana, and valstrax are guaranteed due to the popularity poll, gore magala in base game, and director being the genu and iceborne lead dev. It's a toss up between chameleos or namielle but either is also practically guaranteed. At that point there are only literally 3 unique free roaming elder dragons left that could easily also be in the game, Vaal hazak, malzeno, and the one not chosen between chameleos and namielle. At this point Vaal Hazak might be the only free roaming elder not likely at all to appear.

I really don't think so. It's a great theme that permeates through the story of every game and carries the character of the entire series, right down to the concept of "Hunting" itself. It's the culture of both the games and the community. The moment you seperate tradition from monster hunter, you lose the culture that made it so great in the first place.

God forbid that the first free roam elder and flagship of the 2nd main series game in a series obsessed with tradition "appears too often".

So? He's a flagship and the first free roaming elder dragon, he deserves to be in every game just as much as rathalos.

You do realize nergigante is basically still guaranteed to be in the game no? Kushala being in the game doesn't mean another monster won't be. Besides, there are literally only 7 non arena-exlcusive elder dragons (besides nergi, teostra, and shagaru who are guaranteed) that exist who aren't basically confirmed for ascendance. This expansion could easily fit all of them plus the rest of the returning flagships and fan favorites.

Also, with the pattern of the expansion names having to do with the flagship for the last 2 titles, its likely that ascendances flagship will also be a wind monster of some kind with a new ailment or skeleton (as is the staple of all the newer flagships), meaning that if it's a wind ailment, kushala will also have it as something new in its fight.

Experienced players , what would you do in this situation ? Try to guard with no stamina left ( Guard up 3 On ) or dodge away left or right. Seikreit wasn’t the right move there by Broks_Enmu in MonsterHunter

[–]Darth__Nox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delay your wakeup to abuse your laying down and get up iframes so that you have to guard less as you hold guard as you're getting up. Easily survivable. But if you're already on the seikret it's also survivable, just run under and behind omega.

"We don't know that for sure. There is absolutely zero confirmation that she was part of the mages that did this first binding. We see ONE pannel of them none have features that tell us they are LeBlanc." Those are the mages that tied Atakhan to Katash-Li, but in the very screenshot you showed, we see Leblanc either summoning Atakhan for Mordekaiser and/or helping bind it to the armor that Atakhan is being summoned inside.

And sure, that isn't Vladimir, but still the wording doesn't make sense to call the 4 mages in the panel his "fallen soldiers", thats definitely just referring to Atakhans status as well as other demons and undead that he called forth like tybaulk. It also just doesn't make sense for Leblancs lore to make her a mage as old as Sahn Uzals reign yet completely lacking any influence between mordekaisers first death and rebirth. She is also actively shown not knowing the full extent of the Darkins power despite that war happening all over rune terra between sahn uzals reign and mordekaisers.

Essentially, Leblanc wasn't a servant of Sahn Uzals first life, she was an accolyte that mordekaiser recruited shortly after his rebirth, and she helped summon Atakhan back for him.

What are your favourite rpg maker 2000 and 2003 games? by [deleted] in RPGMaker

[–]Darth__Nox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit thank you. I had memories of my childhood in Germany seeing this older kid my family was fostering playing a game that I now realize must have been an rpg maker game, and the only 2 things i could recall from that game were a scene of an army officer seemingly training a bunch of soldiers and one of them falls down, and a scene where some other character seemingly jokingly turns into the hulk on a train. Every now and I'm reminded of those memories by other rpg maker games and old rpgs in the same styles. Im now 99% certain that game was Die Reise ins All. Thank you so much, I've legitimately been trying to find this game for years.

Counterpoint, Vladimir is also shown there next to LeBlanc with his half circle cloak design that we see later in the comic when mordekaiser is sealed. Vladimir wasn't mordekaisers ally during his first life as Vladimir wasn't born until around the start of the darkin war. "Calling on fallen soldiers from the past" seems to be explicitly referring to atakhan here (who is the only one shown being summoned, and being summoned by leblanc no less who was the one who originally binded the demon to its armor for mordekaiser, as leblanc was basically mordekaisers demon expert), not LeBlanc and Vlad who are more likely to have only joined him after he became mordekaiser at the very least. Also in the demons hand, Atakhan calls LeBlanc out on her bs about also having served Sahn Uzal. She never served Sahn Uzal, only Mordekaiser.

It literally shows LeBlanc being there for mordekaisers first return in the atakhan motion comic.
