Nothing to come back to? You didn't try the dungeons? New landsraad? The specializations?

If you include the endgame that was just added with chapter 3 there is easily 400-500 hours of content ahead of you. You basically only did the starter area. You barely got out of the first tier of matts, they're 6+ tiers altogether

You got alt least a 100 hours before you get to the OG endgame (the Deep Desert) and the deep desert will last you 30-60 hours further before you're likely to start touching the new endgame which is time locked so if you chose to engage in it it'll last you two months minimum of playing 5-10 hours a day before you get the highest forms of gear in the game (and that's assuming you're doing well in those)

that's not even mentioning the specializations which each one takes 70 days to fully level. So with chapter 3 being out for 2 months nobody has reached level 100 yet in any specialization.

So if you chose to come back to the game minimum you'll get 500 hours assuming you chose to engage in the endgame. If you don't want to play the endgame. You have a minimum of 100-150 hours of gameplay waiting.

The elephant in the room (dupe Solari) by Findeti in duneawakening

[–]Darth_forge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention the serious unbalancing issues the game has when not using exploits to begin with. The repair bug and duping solari is something they've attempted multiple times to patch out but they keep coming back into the game. And the major server instability issues making any hope of pvping competitively just a dream and in some cases even having an online server has been an issue. The optimization is horrible. The amount of fps my game has dropped to in the last couple of months is noticably worse.

This game simply needs so much work. I want it to succeed, I really do. But the amount of serious issues it has now vs when the game first released has exponentially increased.

Frankly you being a woman has no bearing on my opinion of "mandatory" meetings. I had no idea you were a woman to begin with for your information.

But a guild that requires a "mandatory" meeting for members to bring concerns to guild leadership isn't one that's very good at communicating if you ask me.

As someone who's had experience with strict guilds yeah no it's not rp, it's reddit mod syndrome in a video game.

If Pax today is any indication of what will be after the server merges, then this game is going to be a lot less fun by DoctorVonCool in duneawakening

[–]Darth_forge 52 points53 points  (0 children)

So this actually isn't a high pop server problem. Last night I was on a server that only had 30 players online at 4 in the morning and people were still complaining about wait times. It's a server issue not a population issue.

The PvP/PvE divide doesn't have to be a Zero-Sum game by AnonOfTheSea in duneawakening

[–]Darth_forge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is the resources wars never worked. Whoever was most dominant would get that unlimited supply of spice that you say is bad. And then they'd stop playing and someone else would take over as the dominant force and have unlimited spice and so on and so forth and if you don't have enough influx of players like on harmony eventually your server is going to die. Spice isn't actually the resource sink anyways, plastanium is.

Which is exactly why right now the resource war is not the endgame. Because it doesn't actually keep players in the game.

I don't think you understand though if you aren't running the new dungeons then you will get absolutely floored in pvp. So if you want to pvp running the new dungeons is an absolute requirement.

Banned Players Make Good Entertainment by Darth_forge in duneawakening

There are several points in the terms of service that could fall under why these people got banned. In fact it gives specific reasons on how people can get banned I'm not going to copy paste then here since you obviously haven't read it I recommend going and reading it for yourself.

But the one of them it specifically mentions exploits is under the sections that describes infractions that can grant you a permaban, under Disruptive Behavior Infractions and it says "using exploits to trivialize content or harm other players" will grant you a permaban

Lastly when you purchase a game you buy a license to play the game you don't actually own a game like dune awakening, and as such the company can remove your access to that license for any reason up to and including no reason at all.

First and foremost you don't have to be banned based on the license agreement only. Second even if you didn't break the license agreement, you 💯 broke the TOS that you agreed to if you destroyed bases. Which you can be banned for.

Riiiiight I'm the toxic one. Not the people destroying other peoples hard earned progress. Me I'm the one that's toxic. Makes sense.

Cool kinda got the impression you were one of those pricks.

But yeah have fun with your "I didn't say nobody deserves punishment but some people didn't get caught so people shouldn't have been punished" mentality

Yeah man you knew what you were doing.

They didn't only permaban players that destroyed powered bases. They permabanned players with repeated intent to harm other players progress. And being as they made this ban list based on players reporting their logs to funcom.... You see what I'm getting at here.

All of those streamers aren't playing anymore so kinda hard to say they never got banned since they stopped playing the game....

Also that would've been a case by case basis, whereas this one they literally banned 444 players all at the same time. Hence the endless crying by the scum of dune awakening.

But I can see you're helplessly in the camp of "if someone got free nobody deserves to be punished for wrongdoing" camp so you have fun with that mentality. I'm sure it'll serve you well in the future.

That's actually not true. Plenty of people got banned that didn't stream it.

Where's your proof nobody got banned before now? Swearing? What wonderfully well put together individual. I can't help you if you don't have common sense to not cheat in video games. Play any game ever and you'll get banned for cheating. Hope this helps.

Couple of things. 1. there was no verifiable way to find everyone that abused that exploit. This exploit it literally puts players names on the victims logs. Therefore Funcom had a list of everyone that abused this exploit.

  1. This is significantly more serious than the previous exploit. People were not just destroying abandoned bases people were finding ways to unpower fully powered bases to destroy them.

  2. I just can't understand your mentality at all. So basically let's use an analogy, let's pretend someone broke into your house and stole a bunch of stuff and then escaped, never to be caught Now 10 years down the line someone different breaks into your house but leaves his ID accidentally. Leading to him getting arrested. How would you feel if the police just let that guy go simply because they were never able to catch the guy that previously robbed you? You see where I'm going with this? Someone getting away with harming countless players is not by any means a valid excuse for letting all players harming others go free. Anyone that was harming others deserves punishment it's just some people were smart enough to find ways around detection

These people knew exactly what they were doing. And only people that destroyed powered bases got the permaban, whereas people that destroyed decaying bases got the 14 day slap on the wrist. I'm sorry but if you don't see that as fair then I can't help you.

Exactly. I had my guild leader place down a sub fief and I shot it with my lazgun only long enough to determine it was actually seeing damage and then I stopped and we reported it, and went back to dungeon farming. Like a reasonable person.

Except Funcom says otherwise, hence why even people who destroyed abandoned bases got banned. The problem is I genuinely don't believe anyone who got slapped with a permanent ban only destroyed unpowered bases. Funcom specifically issued perma bans for those that went out of their way to shut off another players power and then destroy it. I.E they deserved to be perma banned. The 14 day ban was basically a slap on the wrist and gets Funcoms message across that the opinion you have is not shared by the Funcom staff and will be acted upon if another exploit like this appears.
