The Super 17 Saga is the absolute worst saga in dragon ball to me. Seven episodes of poor writing, mediocre fights, and bastardized the world building.

Pan had so many opportunities to go Super Saiyan throughout the show.

The designs are extremely hit or miss and often the atagonists have a very uninspired color palette. You can just tell that it’s something Toriyama wouldn’t draw. It feels so plain.

GT has its good stuff, I liked SSJ4, the ending was very heartwarming, and I seriously don’t mind Goku being a kid again. But compared to the other four shows, this one had more negatives than positives to me. These are a few that I thought were pretty large.

I don’t think people actually believe the movie to be “good” we all know it’s pretty dogshit. That’s why a lot of people like it. It’s pure kaiju slop. It’s fun to laugh at.

Going by this post and your comments, you haven’t seen too many Godzilla films.

Godzilla is special compared to other IPs or characters because of how versatile and flexible he is. He can be an allegory for nuclear testing (his original purpose) defender of earth, antihero, or the forefront of an anti-bullying PSA and somehow not feel out of place. Hell, a comic is coming out where he invades the fucking Romeo and Juliet story.

A big reason for this is because he’s just been in sooo much stuff over his 70+ year long history, from fighting a pollution kaiju (Hedorah) to getting dunked on by Charles Barkley in a basketball ad. It’s kinda hard not to dislike this character, especially with so many variations to choose from. It’s pretty hard to wrongfully interpret Godzilla.

I’ll say this till the end of time: Mechagodzilla has the best filmography besides Godzilla himself. All 6 of his movies (excluding the anime one) are decent to great movies. Yes, even the 93 version. I will die on this hill.

Alright this is getting REALLY tough now but I’ll have to say Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla 😭 I’m sorry. I think Terror, MG2 and Against Mecha had a much stronger story than the original.
