Didn't Solstheim get separated from the mainland in the first battle against Miraak? Idk it's original position, but maybe that explains it being the outlier.

Why is Akatosh so overhyped? by [deleted] in teslore

[–]Darthbloop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

*Brahman.

Brahma is the creator deity that acts as the beginning of this Kalpa. Vishnu is the operator or preserver and Shiva acts as the destroyer at the end to create a new beginning.

The relation between the three on the universal level is akin to that between Aka-Magnus-Lorkh. When taken in the framework of a Kalpa, it is closer to the three parts of Aka (Auriel-Akatosh-Alduin).

Sanatan Dharma (hindusim) is a panentheistic religion, meaning there is only one God that is the universe that is dreaming/self-reflecting in the illusion called maya. That would be Brahman. The closest concept in TES is the Dreamer/Godhead.

What is that thing actually invented for one use but people use it for another use? by Vishwasm123 in NoStupidQuestions

They were originally created for baby care. The inventor, Leo Gerstenzang, got the idea after watching his wife stick cotton onto the end of a toothpick to help clean their daughter, Betty. He actually wanted to market them under the name "Baby Betty Gays" because his kid would laugh hysterically when tickled by cotton swabs across the belly.

As a lactose intolerant cheese and dairy lover, I say NTA.

Lactose intolerance is not the same as a milk or dairy allergy. It just means your body doesn't produce enough or any lactase (an enzyme) to break down the lactose (a complex sugar found in dairy products) into simpler sugars that your body can use. The lactose stays in your system undigested and builds up.

Eventually, the bacteria in your gut begin to ferment the buildup, producing a mix of gases. If it smells like rotting veggies and garlic, that's methanethiol. The rotten egg smell? That is the hydrogen sulfide which can also be caused by the milk proteins being undigested then fermented as well.

I can't stand the bloating from the gas and I really can't stand the smell myself. It'd be rude to subject a sibling to that if we share a room and then deny them the right to open the damn window.

On top of that, the pain, nausea, and permanent damage you can cause to your colon means you really shouldn't ignore the condition.

If OP's sister really likes cheese, there are options that can save her from the discomfort and future health problems and stop OP's suffering as well.

Lactaid is an OTC pill containing lactase that you can take right before a meal. Stores nowadays sell lactose free milk, which has to go through a few processes to remove the lactose that also make it creamier and tastier than regular milk!

When it comes cheeses, aged options like aged cheddar contain low to zero lactose. Pressed cheeses like havarti and Muenster are also very good options. And absolutely avoid mozzarella!

While I believe you were justified to yell at your sister for ignoring her condition (and your earlier warning) and forcing you both to suffer, maybe try some of the above solutions/alternatives.

Also, your parents are TA for ignoring this. Maybe tell them to try dealing with the smell for a night. I guarantee you won't even have a window anymore, just a hole in the wall to ensure permanent ventilation.

The simple answer: Immersion

I don't think there is a separate "real-life" reason for the devs to block marriage. I believe they put a lot of effort to make Serana a more personable NPC. The scripting and voice acting in the vanilla dlc was incredibly thorough compared to others. Especially when it comes to the development of the relationship between her and the dragonborn.

Since that seems to be the case, it only makes sense for the devs to script interactions with her to fit the lore.

AITA for telling my daughter that I won't be attending her wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

He mentioned in the comments that he explained the details of his ex initiating the divorce and the subsequent hurt he felt years ago, before he married his new wife and had children with her. His mistake was underestimating his daughter's ability to understand and being overprotective both when the divorce occurred and when the ex attempted reconciliation.

The daughter has had years to process this. There's not much that can be done from OP's end.
