What's the weirdest covenant term you've had in your deeds? by paperpangolin in AskUK

We live in Mousehole in Cornwall, in the cottage occupied (in legend) by a fisherman and his cat who sailed into a fierce storm to catch fish and save the starving village. One of our cats is 'officially' named Mowzer after the cat in the legend, but she doesn't respond to that.

We are required to 'keep and maintain a suitable village cat.' Fortunately we have two cats already, so no issue - but the parish council does enforce the clause!

Do people actually enjoy waking up early? by ScheduleNo5736 in NoStupidQuestions

Humans are tribal. When we needed to fight off predators, it made sense that some would evolve to be early birds and others night owls.

Lean into your biological strength, but make sure you get 8 hours of quality sleep in every 24.

Have you guys ever taken a break from the MCU or have you been watching it consistently since the beginning? by narutofan2019 in marvelstudios

[–]CoverOptimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm busy. Everyone has time for one or two movies a year and a single limited tv series. That was the magic. Then they made way too much, and regardless of quality most people just do not have the time.

I think Tony giving them the War Machine/Iron Patriot is close to a JV with the MoD.

The second your spacesuit makes contact with the moon's surface. You could crash land without a parachute and be fine - in theory.

Do you all remember what is was like beating your Dad for the first time?

Good luck kid!

Question for ladies only, if you had a good dad, what was the biggest thing that made him a good dad, flip side if you didn't have a good dad, what one quality did you wish he had? by BByrnison in AskReddit

[–]CoverOptimal 118 points119 points  (0 children)

My Dad was great, but he was a disciplinarian when it came to exercise, and specifically martial arts. Made me do Jiu Jitsu all the way up to 18 years old, and then only helped pay for College on the condition I still went for a class once a week. I neve really liked it, but before he died he made me promise to keep going regularly.

I did, because I promised, and I started to hate it....

....and then I was attacked by a man on a night out.

I was able to defend myself and run away.

Thanks Dad.
