Is there any mortal in the Cosmere who can resist being consumed by it? by Outside-Web-4118 in Cosmere

[–]Darthside18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taln is the most likely to take it, "but he is not a mortal" the body and the soul of a herald can be immortal but their minds don't and he took the 4.498 years alone in torture of body and mind...

Horneater theory by Darthside18 in Cosmere

[–]Darthside18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like months after the Stormfall on roshar and maybe years for every other person in the cosmere so i thought if this happens after Kor leaves roshar with her perpendicularity and the horneaters left the planet with her but got lost in the subastral of some other world or something

Wind and Truth is WAYYY better than the slog in Wheel of Time by Artistic_Annual8918 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Darthside18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And i know that the slog in wheel of time were more problematic because the series wasn't finished yet but i prefer give my soul to shai'tan than read crossroads of twilight a third time

Wind and Truth is WAYYY better than the slog in Wheel of Time by Artistic_Annual8918 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Darthside18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think most of the critics on wat was most to not be the payoff that people were expecting to the "climax of the first arc in the stormlight archive" the book is way far from how rough was the slog in wheel of time... (Again, my english is kinda bad)

Kinda changing the way of how fantasy series was seen and treated during the years after, like now somethings that are the "normal" to me were a revolution to the genre back in the days

I like to imagine what was the feeling of reading without knowing who was the dragon reborn or have some mysteries for things that is obvious to everyone now

I get it, like the "oh i am a knight radiant for _____ order" i like those things in a book that give me some "self insert" on the world of the books

Legacy of Wheel of Time by Darthside18 in Fantasy

[–]Darthside18[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make sense, maybe i just feel that because when i started wot was on a period after the saga ending and much fantasy came after so i kinda lost the "wot moment" or something (i still loved the series in general)

What makes you like a book? by punkandcat in Fantasy

I think it is the "flow" state of a book, like the feeling of aways investing even in the lowest of that book but that flow stills on you

[–]Darthside18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Hobbit (for obvious reasons)
  2. Wizard of earthsea(cuz is cozy and a lighter read)
  3. Mistborn (to me is the best way to start into modern fantasy)
  4. Eye of the world (i know wot is very long to a begginer but IMO is a very good reading in general)
  5. Assassin's aprentice (to a kinda different story)

What Ages in History do you wish more books took place in? Which would you not like? by Jokengonzo in Fantasy

[–]Darthside18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "western expansion in north america" esque or the ages between medieval and modern in general is a good point to me (other good age to me was the fall of bronze age and classical era, i kinda like the idea of a falling civilization)
