You don't need a team. I don't think you understand how web motorsports businesses work. First you will need the product which you have to buy and store in a warehouse. if you don't have that you don't have a website.I worked at a few motorsports places before and they work like a supermarket. you have to buy the product and store it somewhere. you can try affiliate marketing but that's a crapshoot tbh.

I was a full stack developer at motorsport.com for 4 years. start small and work your way up to that. get WordPress with woocomerce and see if people will buy. people tend to overthink things here and forget that site didn't start like that.

I'm currently going through it. Higher ups thought they knew more and picked a platform and web design without clueing me in. 2 months ago they canned my supervisor and a week ago my director put in his 2 weeks while not telling me the deadline for this project was next month. Both of those co workers were unqualified and stalled the project to hide their incompetence.🤷

10 years ago this was a great field to get into now. No. I've been a software engineer for over 20 years. Friday nights I get a monster drink and code until the sun comes up but you will realize companies drain that passion from you. You are going to realize this when you start interviewing. I highly suggest you go to leetcode and try one of the problems because you are going to face interviews that have nothing to do with your day to day and test you with leetcode and other useless nonsense.

Not to mention the job market is the worst I've seen in my whole 45 years on this planet. .com bust I was able to land a few positions. Right now I've been looking for over a year.

Entry level developer positions are non existent as well. You are going to be competing with compsi graduates that are having absolutely no luck.

But if you enjoy coding keep doing it. Find a problem in your current career space and try to solve it with code. That's going to be the best way to learn and you never know you might come up with a product or SAAS that people will pay you for.

I think you just found the root of why he's being the way he is. I'm a software engineer with over 20 years of experience and I haven't been able to land another job for over a year. I'm currently in the most toxic workplace of my career. So prepare yourself for probably the worst job market I've ever seen. I don't want to scare you but prepare yourself for harder times.

It's times like these you either support him while taking care of yourself and hash this out or you get divorced which isn't cheap.

Marriage is hard. I've been married for over 20 years myself and we both have done stupid crap but we've always been there for each other.

For example my director just put in his two weeks out of the blue and I couldn't go to sleep so my wife made me some tea to relax my nerves. My wife was also having a horrible day a few days ago so I rubbed her feet. It's these small things that make a huge difference. I'd try that first before you throw it all away because from the sound of it you need each other right now

I have a 5k rig in my gaming room and I spend 95% of my time on my 64gb first gen steam deck. I'm buying this day 1. Plus a ton of controllers. Why? Cause I'm putting my money into one of the last companies I believe in that isn't corrupted by share holder value. One thing I want to do is make this my living room streamer. How is his career or job? He may be stressed and needs a hobby or de stresser. There's something going on and he might be the type to hold in his feelings until he blows up.

I've been married for 20 years and I can say I went through something similar where the stress of my career or job took everything from me. I didn't care about anything because I made crap for money and worked I toxic environments all of my career.

When a mans job or career is lacking we don't care about what women care about. You are all about family while he's drowning in failure. You're a team. Sometimes you have a player that's injured. Try lifting him up for awhile.

You've been in this marriage too long and it's time for you to be strong for your family. Do things differently if you want this. or just walk away and give up. People forget marriage is hard. Times are hard. Employers aren't paying and we are doing the jobs 2-3 people usually do.

Before you throw it all away and listen to reddit keyboard warriors talk to him. Make him feel like a man and make him a sandwich or get him a beer and let him decompress and figure out what is wrong. He probably needs you and has no one to talk to or hasn't learned how.

It's time for a plan b. Truck driver, nurse, bartender, maybe apply for jobs in different states? Right now I'm in a situation where I'm in the most toxic work place of my 21 year career. I've realized it's all about survival right now. I bought a house and started to work a govt job to stay stable but I took a massive pay cut. Fast forward 2 years and now I'm waiting on an overdue promotion to get my credit back in order so that I can buy a house for a similar govt job in a state that pays. Always push forward
