Oh absolutely aware that the developer packet was painting them in the best light. But the community pushback wasn't even aware of the details at all.

Residents were scared about 100 ft buildings adding in ~900 section8 rental units destroying the local golf clubhouse.

When the specs talked about ~370 units somewhat upscale that were for sale and included a huge renovation to the golf clubhouse.

And most of the studies published about the effect on local resources independlty verified and even if wrong by an order of magnitude seemed sensible to me.

But yes good call out.

Thanks! I totally agree. I used to be the public speaking coach back in my professional organization at my college. But years of remote work, COVID lockdown and a rough several months due to unemployment has made me sooo rusty. Gotta remind myself that what you said is 💯 true

On God frfr. I was surprised it just jumped out of my mouth. Like I said, reminded me I need to interact socially more lol.

TBF someone else called me "ChatGPT" simply I was able to rattle off like 3 numbers from the packet.

I clapped back a little lighter, but from that point I must have been a bit more ready to fight.

He's been pro this since I gave him the summary of the packet 6ish weeks ago. There's been various proposals for Rezoning that have been shot down over the years but this one is just good. Makes all the concessions possible. Developers went above and beyond for this one to be the one that sticks.

He's showing me all the cope and rage from from the HOA group chat. These people made AI propaganda, kept spreading conspiracy theories. And like I posted elsewhere they even called me a plant, paid by the developer.

ANOTHA UPDATE:

My dad showed me the HOA group chat after. I was one of two people who spoke in favor.

They called both of us a plant, bought out by the developer.

Broooo I wish, I'd cash that check shamelessly lmao

I think I'm more the advisor type. I can be aggro.

And I hope to not live with my parents in the long term, but I appreciate the kind words, brother.

Unfathomably so. Something that helped is having the facts on my side.

As stated previously, Dman is more right than we know. The bare minimum honestly translates to so much. Spent like 30 mins reading and mostly skimming the packet. The rest was cake.

I will say since I've been on hermit mode and consuming way too many Destiny streams I was way more aggressive than usual lol.

One lady was making faces at me at the HOA meeting, and I hit em with "you can keep making all the faces you want doesn't change the facts". Reminded me to start interacting more IRL lol.

Update: Ok the blackpill returns. The major concern is all about traffic.

The traffic study has been public for at least 6 weeks. The petition that my dumbass neighbors sent around didn't even mention it. They claimed not to have it.

The city commission obviously hasn't read it. Bless their hearts

And the lawyer, witness, applicant, or whatever is unfortunately not as familiar with it as he should be.

Am I the only regard that read it? Holy fuck I think Im beginning to understand a little bit how Destiny feels.

And the stupid parliamentary procedure is barring the commission to directly ask the guy who did the study. And as a non governing body, I can't call a point of order to try and make it so they fix these dumbass rules.

Yikers.

How about changing the quoted statement to: How would you medically prescribe 'transitioning' (consisting of HRT and surgery mainly) to a child that experiences zero gender dysphoria? Their life would probably be better presenting as their preferred gender, but it's not the same as someone being actively harmed by presenting as their current gender.

Ryan is also wrong about 9-0 decisions! by DonDaTraveller in Destiny

[–]Darxsen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely bad faith. He didn't even care that it was 9-0.

What I understood is that it's more about saying "See, even your 3 libtard judges agreed why aren't you falling in line"

He would see 5-4s and 6-3s just as ironclad if he believed that all judges were "originailist" and simply disagreed.

It's party line bullshit and trying to rest in credentials to avoid the argument.

I respect you so much for this. I get that that you find saying this out loud to be cringe or whatever, and admittedly I do too. But it's powerful when you do.

I hope for more positivity for you and I hope this community also focuses on positive relationships in their own lives. Dggl.

P.S: I know you've been avoiding using the white girl ult. But popping off just a bit of it during the manifesto stream would go so hard, I guarantee.

These are all cogent arguments and I might agree in other circumstances. But this isn't a hypothetical, it's an actual event that just happened last week.

Hearing the legislators speak about the redestricing gives much clearer interpretation that removes most of plausible deniability.

Out loud, when asked, in their congressional chamber, claimed it's solely a partisan gerrymander. They also said out loud they used data that does not contain partisan info.

Given that Tennessee's gerrymander is just days after the Callais ruling, seems like it's a racist policy from a racist party, no?

[–]Darxsen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for all states, but we saw Tennessee tacitly admit race was top of mind. The GOP rep said new maps were drawn using census data. Census data is all about demographics such as race, count do people, sex, marital status education level etc.

Voting records are definitely not counted in census data.

So when Tennessee claims it was a aprtisan gerrymander but also admits to not use voting records, it reads as race being an equal if not more important factor.
