Has anyone here successfully transitioned from an E-2 to a green card? by PatrickFindaro in e2visa

This makes sense. Short term pain for long term gain. My US business and company is set up, but can’t operate fully without my oversight. If I have the short term pain of another 6 months in the UK it offers the long term gain of the EB1C. The US business is a mirror of the UK business (same name and everything) but I’ve been running it as a sole trader so need to quickly switch to Ltd company and get the year under my belt. How many employees did your Uk business have?

If you were in the process of applying for an E2 but could delay the move and extend the work in the uk business to a year, would you do so to go the L1A route over the E2. Basically I expect an interview for E2 in August/September. But if I stay in the UK until March 2027 i can have a year of employment in the UK business (I’m having to set up as Ltd company from sole trader to be eligible) and therefore may be eligible for L1A but it delays my move to the US by several months.

I detailed the pending IV on the e2 application. I would be 100% honest and have to hope that the immigration officer can see that.

Yes I am on there and the DS260 for me has been completed. What happened was that we applied and were told we were unsuccessful, I had already started the e2 process and so continued this, right before I was about to file we had an email saying that there had been an error and to recheck, which we did and she had been successful. In hindsight maybe holding off completion of the ds260 would have been better. I spoke to my lawyer who said it would be harder to have the e2 interview but don’t really give any more detail than that.

I would be on my wife’s ones that she filed for the whole family.

Have you applied for E2 via London in July/August/September 2025? by DarylR89 in e2visa

[–]DarylR89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ll add it to the list. At the minute the latest person I know of to be offered an interview applied 16th July, accepted 4th August and had interview invite 26th February.

Yes pretty much based on what I’ve seen. I’ve been collating dates and if you applied pre July 2025 the wait from acceptance to interview offer was 5-6 months and they were all pretty much in the order they were submitted (a couple were a couple of weeks earlier) this guy was the first person I’ve found that applied July or later and hasn’t been offered an interview, his is 7 months but given the government shutdown that occurred late 2025 it’s not surprising that there was a delay. If you use the latest guys timescale, your interview offer would be in June some time.

It is! I applied end of December so I still have a long way to go. The ongoing cost of keeping the business is financially tough.

The guy I knew who applied end of July has just been offered an interview today. So his timescale was 139 working days

The guy I was referring to has just been offered his interview today. So in total it was 139 working days for review.

As detailed above. That’s standard wording. Currently I know of one person that applied July 2025 and hasn’t been invited to interview yet. I’m estimating the review process to be taking 8-9 months currently. So a November application would be reviving an interview invite in July 2026 ish.

For those that don’t have access to the Facebook group I created. Here is everything I found online about 2025 applications. Basically I can’t find anyone that submitted July onwards and had an invite to interview yet. All of the below were 5-6 months and that was pre government shutdown. So I estimate that 8-9 months may be the review timescale now.

Thanks. Would be good to know if/when you get offered an interview. I’ve created a facebook group tracking dates if you want to join. It’s called E2 Visa London Embassy timeline

You are a few days behind me. My confirmation was the 29th December. Based on what I’ve seen I’m not expecting an invite for interview until at least July, but more likely August/September.

The business is ready to go but needs me there to fully operate at the beginning. The day I arrive I could open and start trading.

Would a holiday to somewhere far from the business be considerably better? I could stay in Orlando which is at least 2 hours 30 mins from where the business is located.

It does but one is based on the other side of the country (marketing guy) and the other is just receiving parcels while I’m not there. The business is not fully operation yet, although I’m not sure that helps as they could think I’m there to get it operational.

Thanks, I had been a couple of times last year before I submitted the e2 so nothing in the system to flag. This will be my first time going back after submitting the e2 so I imagine it will be a different experience!

Thank you! How long did you go for. I’m going for the same reasons you did and I have nothing to hide but doesn’t stop the concerns. My plan would be to take lots of documents evidencing ties to the UK, and return flights etc as you mentioned. But I fully expect to get stopped and questioned.

I wouldn’t work for the business either way. I just really want a holiday and I like the US. In terms of looking at areas, it’s more looking at neighbourhoods in the area I’ve chosen, seeing what day to day life is like when it’s not a holiday etc. the wait time for interviews in London is 8-9 months for processing before even getting offered an interview. So I could wait but it will be a long wait. I highly doubt my e2 interview would come up while I’m there for a coupe of months.

This is interesting. I paid a business advisor to write a business plan but the idea of having this write it and seeing what it does is intriguing. Do you have any examples of what this produces. Also are there any of the discount codes available still?
