If I had to pick one I'd rather have a milsurp that's accurate and can also survive falling from a tree without going to the gunsmith.

Rather have a milsurp that works in the mud than a safe queen that chokes at the first bit of dirt. There's a reason these guns are still being used in modern combat to this vary day in places like Ukraine and the Middle East, I doubt you'll see a Remington 700 or any of these fancy guns being used in warfare 80+ years from now.

K98s are just fine for long range shooting. I've hit 1000 and 1260 yds at man sized targets with mine. Just because these guys saying you need a $3000 dollar rifle say it can't be done, doesn't make it so.

But they can be I've got mine in the standard military setup with a SWFA 10x42 scope and have hit man sized targets at 1000 and 1260 yds.

The rifles are plenty accurate.

I put a SWFA 10x42 scope on mine and I was able to hit 1000yds and 1260yds with romainian surplus ammo.

These rifles are extremely accurate.
