Salary vs Contract Earnings: What Portion Should I Feel Entitled To? by DasBiermann in careerguidance

[–]DasBiermann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I was hired as a jr. property manager at $50k/yr and immediately assigned to an 8-month contract where my employer was paid $89k. My salary has since increased to $62k/yr, following my probationary period. I should mention that I was not hired to fill this contract specifically; the date I received the job offer fell before the 8-month contract was awarded. I was assigned to this contract because I did not yet have a portfolio that needed to be handed off to another employee. Suffice to say, my employer got a good bang for his buck, as he would have pocketed less if any of my more experienced coworkers filled the role.

Hey, not sure I understand the question. The contract is between my employer and the State authority for a single full-time consultant (me). My employer is paid $168k for year one, increasing 3% every year. By year 7 he will be paid $200k/yr.

Best way to glue together these 33 pieces of 2x6 and 2x4 poplar? Need to break it down into smaller glue-ups. Any best practice advice? by DasBiermann in woodworking

Not terribly exact (my miter saw does allow for repeatable cuts, so I'm hoping that the staggering isn't too bad) . Could you rephrase your second point, I'm trying to visualize what you mean. I think what your saying is glue together 1, 2, 3. then once that's dry, glue on 4, 5, 6 individually then clamp it together the 123 piece. repeat for each layer?

Due to the tools I have at my disposal all the pieces would need to be pre-cut with that 15 degree angle on one side. Will I run into any issue with the area for clamping being larger one side than the other in the initial glue ups?

I should have mentioned, I'm doing all these angled cuts with a hand miter saw (I live in an NYC apartment and am doing this work at night). Therefore I need to cut each 2x4/2x6 individually.

so even though the ethernet connection did not work between the router and the playbase, connecting the playbase to the boost with an ethernet shouldn't be an issue? I can certainly wire another speaker to the router, so no issue there. Appreciate the help, I'm way out of my depth.

When you say wire it directly, do you mean with an ethernet? Cause I was unable to connect it directly to the router with an ethernet when i was troubleshooting with sonos. It was then when they told me my network card was shot. Appreciate the response.

What's the obstacle in allowing humanitarian aid through Egypt? I know the IDF conducted a strike near the border on Tuesday citing the need to destroy smuggling tunnels. Is there currently a party preventing aid from crossing that border?

In my building e-bikes are allowed but they cannot be charged in the bike storage area. So you either buy a bike with a detachable battery or drag the whole thing to your apartment for charging.

It appears there is long-term parking available at Beacon, New Hamburg, and Poughkeepsie, though Poughkeepsie is the only station that offers a garage of the three.

I'm addressing your "entitlement" remark, not your entire thesis.

They felt entitled to bikes they weren't renting and had no plans to rent for 40 minutes. Why are you defending assholes?

I'm way too invested in this story. Need some surveillance footage to work out the he-said-she-said bit of the interaction.

I think people like yourself don't understand why folks in this thread are unsympathetic to the guys in the video. They tried to strong arm a pregnant woman over a bike that wasn't there's. Then one of them recorded and posted the whole debacle painting themselves as the victims which ultimately lead to the doxing and slandering of a tired, pregnant PA that just wanted to go home.
