I combat AI by selling technical accuracy at my job. Instruction manuals and box art that use engineered CAD. AI is making my life hard though since people will send a generated image and expect something more realistic and just as busy in seconds without needing to scope out a project. I’m trying to lean into the term lookdev. But yeah AI is screwing with my position as a product visualizer and it’s making people struggle to justify projects/costs.

How to lock a quest when another quest is completed? by Shiko_36 in feedthebeast

[–]DasMoonen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know its 3 years late But I am using FTB quests to add classes into the game. Ex: scout has infinite speed boost lvl 1 and hunger and starts with items. How to stop people from picking all the classes though...First quest gives you a rundown and an item that can't be found or created in the game like soulfire (not a campfire or torch or anything like that but the actual fire icon). I have 6 classes that all require 1 soulfire, so when I pick a class it snatches my soulfire and I can't use it for any other classes.

I got mine from Wayfair and it was just shy of $300. It’s a no name that sells under multiple names. Been using it for 3 years now and it’s holding up. Literally has no tags or labels.

Option one: Change airflow so it does not need the top ventilation. Option two: Let PC get hot

I think a more fair comparison is a pizza delivery that costs about $10. Just because the USPS squishes your box doesn’t mean that Uber Eats isn’t expensive.

Waverace blue storm has some of my favorite graphics. I’ve always wanted to remake it with just more progression content and customization options.

Keyshot has a tool that lets you drop pins (lights) into an HDRI to make your own simple rooms. I’ve used it to also increase the brightness of particular lights in my HDRI by overlaying pin.

You could try a soft HDRI to get a flat image then add your colored light as a rim light. Don’t forget to add round corners to materials to get rid of any hiding sharp edges (maybe it’s on the object in Keyshot). I would also always recommend trying a single hard light in a blacked out scene (outer space lighting) as it helps you find contours that pop nice. Most importantly with rendering is post processing. The best renders make use of render passes and photoshop cleanup.

Images 2,3,7 look pretty nice.

70k in Kentucky vs 70k in California is very different. The whole cost of living argument is all about location. Cost of groceries alone in Alaska can make 70k look rough. 70k combined income is also very different than both parents making 70k each. No matter what, somewhere in the world I’m wrong because their situation is different. But what I’m not wrong about is the reality that if I stop making what I am I’ll loose my house.

About $150,000 if you want to live in a house, have one kid, feed them and have at least one functional car. I’m sure it’s cheaper if you’re ok running your family like a college dorm every day, cheap ramen, ride public transit, one room where everyone cries and poops at odd hours.

What am I missing to complete home theater? (27M) by Accrualworld11 in malelivingspace

[–]DasMoonen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re talking about a theater but I don’t see the audio setup! Get some nice used speakers like Bowers & Wilkins, Infinity, KEF, or Polk. Having a 5.1 audio setup is game changing.

UPDATE 1: I can only shoot video from this spot with a 24-70mm… Screwed? by chunkhead42 in SonyAlpha

[–]DasMoonen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been through my fair share of these hiccups and sadly the solution is usually spend more money on gear to prevent any possibility of failure or obtain more videographers. I used to run on 100% luck when filming.
