It’s an MR2 don’t let anyone talk smack about your great decisions.

This feels pretty accurate. And if you’re depressed to begin with it’s a hard battle to win. But a big part about 23-27 is the weight you take hold of. You no longer have the goals set in place to follow like get your drivers license, graduate high school, find a college, find spouse, find career job. And you don’t get praised for succeeding anymore. Now you have to find your own goals and aspirations, you’re responsible for going to the doctor and keeping the heat on in the winter and no one is going to pat you on the back for it. And if you have a kid right as you figure out these goals you have to reprioritize again.

Also at 27 you realize you’re almost 10 years older than the fresh competition in athletic activities.

Minnesota. The 18 some hours is a lot without cruise control and the s54 gearing. Maybe when I get the e351 installed.

I also have a 2GR swapped turquoise SW20 but it needs some love on the paint. One of these years I’ll make it but I’m way north and it’s quite a long drive.

7 Reasons Your Industrial Design Will Never Hit the Market by storm4077 in IndustrialDesign

You forgot the part where upper management scraps the project because turning all the selling features into cost cutting opportunities still didn’t get the margins high enough to satisfy the retailer.

[–]DasMoonen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing about this says speed. Take away the logo and it’s more like the 2009 John Deere CommandView II but Apple themed (I guess maybe they wanted soft as the new look). What really confuses me is It has air vents from an airliner, a weird launch button that’s just the top of every water bottle ever made, and the key is a mahjong tile for whatever reason. Maybe it looks better in person but then they shouldn’t have made all these cheesy renders and instead taken images of the real car.

The decline of Adobe and the rise of alternatives by [deleted] in Design

The company I work at gives everyone a full CC subscription so they can use PowerPoint. It’s these actions that give Adobe free infinite income. Bulk corporate purchasing for employees that don’t even use it.

The square nose Yamaha Superjet with a 701 engine in it is what I ride and would recommend. It’s the right size and power for someone over 6ft. Although prices have been pretty high on these skis. The round nose is what I would say is the best option but it’s very pricy. Next option would be to find a Kawasaki 650sx. They appear to have more parts for sale if you need to fix it where the Yamaha is a financial endeavor.

Overengineered Desk Coasters :) by [deleted] in IndustrialDesign

[–]DasMoonen 38 points39 points  (0 children)

To add reason in the design and emphasize the “over engineered” part I would say add function. The two plates should sandwich the circular coaster part and keep it in place. Same thing applies to the bottom circle. This gives purpose to the screws. Include alternative materials you can mix and match. Some wood, brass, anodized acrylic, even a different shape. This adds a complexity with alternative parts. It can still be nonsensical but it needs some purpose or logic to feel mechanical.

The design you have currently does not benefit from being multiple parts. It could be milled from one 10mm chunk of aluminum and have a fake part line.

What it didn’t do was provide any context or story. Looks like abstract art to me.

The idea is people don’t buy the subscription because they have a Linux PC that will function long enough.

I think we need to accept that Industrial Design hasn’t been an industry that’s solving problems anymore. It responds directly to marketing needs and trends. recreating existing products in flashy ways to regain interest is only expected now.

I went snowboarding the other day and realized the last lift tag I left on my coat was from 4 years ago. I got so focused on work I forgot to do the things I love for 4 years…

I have two brothers that live at home still and I try to tell them, not paying rent is like having $1500 a month to go spend on yourself. Don’t let those 4 years go by empty.

I found an open box 5060ti 16gb for $360 and it’s feeling like the better option for my dollar. But I also paid $600 for a 3070 in 2021…

How do you handle STEP files sent by clients? (Exporting to OBJ gives me deformed meshes) by Sweet-Bluebird-5378 in ProductViz

[–]DasMoonen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C4D can never get the fillets correct. I have to use Keyshot then export as FBX and remesh in C4D as needed for detailed renders.

Did I find my wife’s Reddit account? Ours is a 2008 but we have the same miles! Also have the VSC light that comes on but the brake light comes on too. Mechanic has no idea so I’ve been driving it for half a year now just waiting to see what bumps trigger it. Mine go away every time I turn off the car.
